It works, minimalistic approach which I like
This is the only HUD product I used, but it was good enough that I am encouraged to try more. Except during bright light, which is not a big problem in my area, this one reflects extremely well on screen. On accuracy it's a bit off and has a slight delay, but not to an extent of calling it wrong or slow. There are some adjustments but I didn't feel the need to adjust for accuracy. It's very minimalistic data on screen - speed and NS direction. Speed is legible but the N/S direction is unreadable. No other clutter on screen which is very nice, some other products provide lot more data which really distracts the driver- at least to me. Highly recommend if you want just the speed with high level of brightness.

A lot of adjustments
All the adjustments make it more complicated that it needs to be probably (I just left everything default as the instructions are kinda complicated). I put it into a 1952 Willys Overland pickup truck (pandemic project.. I ran out of things to do to it so decided it needed a heads up display lol). I fastened this to the steering column with a couple of black plastic tie wraps (after making some custom fastening holes in the rubber holder), as I have no dash board to speak of.. and that part worked great. it's very bright and when i checked my speedometer against it, it was right on. It's kind of cool to have the speed on the windshield now. I didn't even notice it at first (so it's not distracting at all), as I was test driving for something else.. but when I did notice it.. it was like.. wow! that's kinda cool! :) A cheap addition that adds a little modernization to an older vehicle.

Letters too small
We purchased this to use the compass function. The letter for NSEW were too small and blurry for me. Plus it always needed to be plugged in to work. Also the directions were written by someone who's first language is not English. Very hard to understand. Plus if we did want to use the speedometer function, it would need tweaking. I couldn't understand it at all. One button to move thru the functions. Just didn't work for us.

THE PYLE HEADS UP DISPLAY WORKS FLAWLESS
I purchased the pyle ( phud12) heads up display from amazon, the display is bright and clear, the accuracy of speed is exceptional. the instructions on use are good. The phud12 works great. I would recommend this product to anyone

Should have been my first choice!
THIS IS THE HUD TO BUY!This wasn't actually my first choice for a HUD. I didn't buy this one first because it cost less and i honestly thought paying more would get me something better. oh how wrong Pyle has proven me!I plugged in this PYLE HUD, spent a few minutes with the instructions to switch it from KPH to MPH. (when setting up, the letters appearing denotes what setting you are adjusting, not the numbers as i originally thought).the Pyle unit is bright enough to see clearly on a sunny day but adjusts very nicely at night.this Pyle HUD was half the price and is twice the product of the first HUD i bought! i plan to get several more Pyle HUD's as stocking stuffers for christmas (especially my father who tends to have a heavy foot!)i feel it is pretty accurate up until about 60, then starts to show faster than car speedometer

Something so simple should be easy to setup and calibrate
The instructions are poorly written and calibrating it should be much simpler. I used the device for a 500 mile road trip and the latency is annoying. I have a very accurate Garmin navigation device that I used for comparison. I will not buy another PYLE product.

Poor legibility, even with provided filter
Impressively bright display. Easily visible in broad daylight. Only direct, blinding afternoon sunlight competed with the LED brightness.Really good build quality. The unit is light but doesn’t feel cheap or delicate.Easy to install, plug it into your cigarette lighter, place it in the non-slip tray, and stick on the film (if necessary). It’s only slightly confusing to configure: you will need the consult the manual to change the default km/h to mph.Compass and speed seem very responsive and accurate. Seems to use GPS for heading, because I know my car dash emits a bunch of bizarre magnetic interference.Unfortunately, at least with my windshield, there are “echoes” in the projected image: the readouts are doubled, or even tripled. Surprisingly, the image is clearer without using the provided “reflection film”. While it does make the image appear much brighter, this has a side effect of making the echoes brighter too, which interferes with the legibility of the speed and compass readouts.See photos of echoes with and without the provided film. The film has a slight tint, like sunglasses. This echo problem may be partly due to the (possibly unusual) angle of my Prius 2015 dashboard and windshield. I notice if I adjust the angle of the unit, one of the echoes can be made to overlap more closely with the other two, which makes it much easier to read.Even if the echoes are fixable with twiddling, it’s disappointing to have to futz around and troubleshoot, since the product marketing promises crisp and clear projection. The white speed readout is a _lot_ larger and brighter than the green compass readout. It is visible, but the white glare competes with the compass, making it harder to read at a glance. If you will mostly use the speed readout, this may be fine, but since the compass was the main reason I bought this, I would have liked the compass info not to be crowded out like that. While it “does what it says on the tin” and ticks all the obvious boxes, there are a bunch of design details where the unit does poorly, it is just a bit weird. The unit emits an unpleasant beep when it turns on. Not super loud, and it can be turned off, but an unnecessary pollution of the personal soundscape. The irrelevant satellite status and beep setting are also displayed at all times. I only need to know if the GPS connection is not good. Seeing the icon all the time is visual clutter.Strangely (and I accept this is a tiny thing) the unit doesn’t always present the compass direction’s letters in “speaking order”, even though it would have been trivially easy to do so. E.g. north east and south east are “E N” and “E S”. I would have barely noticed this, but they seem to have gone out of their way to have two “W”s, bookending the rest of the letters. Strangely, for cardinal west, the left one is used, but for diagonal west-ish directions, the right one is used. The upshot is that sometimes directions are displayed in an unnatural order. A strange misstep. (I wonder if it’s because this is the English variant of a Chinese product, and is this ordering makes sense with Chinese compass characters. Your guess is good as mine.)Stepping back, if these sort of detailed design/experience things tend not to bother you, this product will work great for you. Otherwise, know this product delivers a spotty user experience overall, despite its pretty excellent performance and build quality.

Very good head up display unit
This is a simple HUD unit and does the job. Dynamic brightness is very good and sunny bright days as well as nights. Little too bright for nights but not distractive. Did not use reflective film and still fantastic. Connects to gps in few seconds and display the speed. Speed is 1 to 3 miles more than the vehicle speedo meter above 30 mph. It's said to be adjustable, but have not tried so far. Unit comes with plenty long wire and was able to route 12 v lines completely hidden. I would like if the unit is thinner but not really distractive.
