The original wire holding up my 6kg mirror eventually gave way after several years. After leaving a nice dent in my wooden floors when it fell, I wanted to make sure that its replacement would provide more security. This wire is certainly thicker than the original and should be more than adequate to cope with the weight, according to the seller, but only time will tell.

The first thing that was important was that the coil didn't spring apart and knot itself all over the place. I hung a reasonably heavy picture with it, no problem. Good, sturdy wire, worth the money.

Installed a couple of weeks ago and it seems sturdy for holding up our 15kg mirror. To be safe I actually wired it up with a second loop, so that if it did break then there is a chance the second wire would catch it.It is a lot easier to mount picture with than most things, since it doesnt stretch at all (apart from small kinks you might have) so Im pleased with my purchase, but dont think I would want to test it to 20kg without wanting even more safety wires!

Only suitable for VERY LIGHTWEIGHTS

I moved in a flat with a picture rail, so have been hanging pictures, rather than putting hooks in walls. When I bought some mirrors to put, I was worried they'd come crashing to the ground, but this wire has really impressed me with its strength. The heavy mirrors haven't moved at all - have hung for a few months now without any issue. Plus the brass looks nice.

Will order again.
