This type of Zinc plated flue terminal can only be used on conventional gas boilers, if you have a condensing boiler you’ll require the plastic coated version. Be sure to measure your flue terminal before purchase, mine sticks out by 115mm so this is the perfect depth at 165mm as you require 50mm gap around the entire flue, my flue is also 130mm in diameter so the 280mm gives an extra 25mm on top of the required 50mm either side. Fitting required 3 rawl plugs and 3 repair washers with zinc plated screws. If you rotate it so that the Tower plate is at 3 o’clock and mark before you drill it will easily fit so that you drill in the mortar.New Building regulation BS5440-1:2008 (9.2.1) states that if the bottom of your flue is less than 2.1m from the ground, floor or deck a terminal cover is required for safety. Plus it will also stop some flying insects and rodents from climbing inside your boiler, not wasps as they can fit through the mesh but may still deter them.Sadly after only being installed for just less than 3 months, I had to return this Zinc plated version and opt for the Stainless Steel version of the same size. I have enclosed a picture of the rusted front. I have an Ideal classic FF3100 fanned closed flue boiler the info given was to install the cheaper Zinc coated option. Hopefully the stainless steel version will last. Only time will tell.

Study and well made they were fitted easily over fan vents on the outside wall of our flats.They were put there to keep parakeets out and they have done the job. They've tried to eat through the guards but have failed!

I had an old one that was over 20 years old which was full of holes, this one fits perfect & hope it last another 20 years.

Good solid cover, and 1/5th of the price Worcester Bosch charge and does the same job. !

Dimensions correctly stated so no problem when replacing old one, which had rusted and broken. This new one will last a lot longer as it’s zinc coated.

This was fixed on in February 2020 eighteen months ago.Looks like this had gone some time ago.So didn’t last very long.
