Do not waste your money
Avoid this scanner like the plague. Had one 2 years ago and it developed a fault ie a black line on the left. HP replaced it and 9 months into the replacement it too developed the same black line fault. After many calls with HP they are not taking ownership or giving a repair option paid for by me. Suggested that I purchase a new scanner. Will not purchase a HP scanner again. Customer service sucks.

Be very careful / does not work since catalina update
does not work with apple macbook pro since catalina update. also there is a black line on every scanned copy. not used often but feeder does not seem to work either.

Black Line fault
Like other reviewers I too bought one of these scanners. Excellent scanner until the black line appears. HP replaced the scanner and now it too has the same black line problem. As the warranty has expired they wont do anything. It is obviously a fault with the product.

Guter Scanner trotz Windows-11-Treiberproblemen (Lösung vorhanden)
Der HP ScanJet Pro 3500 f1 ist für diesen Preis wirklich ein sehr guter Scanner und liefert eine überzeugende Scanqualität. Leider gibt es deutliche Treiberprobleme, vermutlich seit Windows 11. Lösung: Nach der Installation von VueScan x64 funktioniert der Scanner zuverlässig. VueScan ist zwar kostenpflichtig, sorgt aber dafür, dass die Treiber korrekt eingerichtet werden. Danach lässt sich auch die originale HP-Software nutzen, da VueScan die nötige Basis schafft, die HP selbst offenbar nicht mehr ausreichend pflegt. edit: Außerdem noch folgende Einstellungen (siehe Bilder) vornehmen und anschließend den PC Neustarten Die Bedienung über das Display ist eine Katastrophe, aber eigentlich auch unnötig, da ohnehin ein Notebook oder Computer per Kabel angeschlossen sein muss. Mit funktionierender Software fällt das kaum ins Gewicht.

Useless Scanner!
I am artist and wanted to scan my artbooks, this device pissed me off. Extremely slow, unresponsive, very bad interface, the software was useless too. I couldnt easily decide how to make it scan the flatbed or the feeder. I wont recommend this device due to the user experience being extremely bad.
