Depeche Mode's fifteenth album title translates to 'remember you must die'. Despite that it is not a 'bleak celebration', if you'll pardon the pun.The album themes are informed by loss, but also salvation and resurgence, and much of the album is upbeat.Although the songs were mainly written prior to founding member Andy Fletchers untimely death, it was recorded after his passing, and as such is a fitting eulogy to his memory - a return to form that I'm sure Andy would have loved. Heavy on synths, melody, cutting lyrics and Gahan's voice on top form. Martin Gore sings the hypnotic Soul With Me and it's definitely his best vocal since 'Home'. This is a meaningful and important DM album and sounds better with every listen, just like all great albums should.Richard Butler from Psychedelic Furs co-wrote four of the songs, but surprisingly my favourite is Before We Drown, which was written by Gahan and the other two newer DM members. But it's very hard to pick a favourite when each of the twelve tracks are instant DM classics.DM fans will love this record. The 2LP translucent vinyl records play perfectly with no distortion or pressing problems so common these days. Download codes not included.The Memento Mori tour this year will be sublime but I don't know how DM will pick the setlist. The whole album deserves to be played live so I'm hoping they focus on the new and jettison some of the more familiar setlist staples.In summary, Memento Mori is their best since Violator. Turn it up loud.

Cannot recommend this album enough. It's what some may call dark, but it's also full of mystery and is open to interpretation on the meaning of the songs/lyrics. I have just got back from seeing them in Berlin and was lucky enough to hear them sing a number of songs from the album live. The media are saying that they are back, but they never went away. Exceptional album and one you need to add to your collection.

After a number of years and a sad loss DM are back. Easily their best release in 20 years. Reflective but not downbeat an instant classic. Check out the sublime ‘Before We Drown’.

Absolutely love the transparent record with the angel wings on side 4. Have not listened to the red press (keeping it sealed) and not yet bought the standard black vinyl, but this is a pretty good pressing. And it’s a class album from DM, so really happy.

Fantastic album of new material, However not really sure you can justify the cost for a 3 sided album (again), however as a dedicated fan, who owns every album they have even released on vinyl, it had to be bought. In truth the tracks could easily have fitted on a single 2 sided album, but that is a different conversation

Me llamó la atención desde que lo vi anunciado. Depeche Mode es mi banda favorita y quise tener este coleccionable sin saber que el contenido me encantaría: las fotografías, el arte visual, el poster y 2 espectaculares vinilos transparentes. Ya sólo me falta probar el audio, pero estoy seguro que sonará de lujo.
