Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB 100 Aluminum Tripod

Great quality and very versatile. Excellent value for money. Lite enough to walk around with. Very good for macro or studio.

I bought this tripod a while ago, but its first proper outing was recent - a week in Switzerland. I intended to take lots of panoramic mountain shots. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the tripod stable when used with a Nikon D7000 and 70-300mm lens. This lens doesn't have a tripod collar, Nikon reckon it's not needed. However, when setup to take wide panoramic shots using the camera in portrait mode, the front of the camera 'droops' over time, so it doesn't stay level across the shot. I can't adjust it out, it just won't hold the camera stable. The legs are great. The head? Not so much. It's fine for most purposes, just not what I bought it for! Be careful if you intend to use this with heavy cameras or longish lenses. I'm going to have to replace the head and (probably) get an L-bracket to simplify my landscapes.

Great value tripod - I would buy again - terrific but a little heavy but if you're not carrying it long distance it's fine.

This tripod is fantastic. It's durable and fairly compact. When looking for a new tripod, I knew I wanted something with a ball joint head. I kind of had my mind set on a Manfroto, but I just couldn't justify the price. This Vanguard was cheaper than just the tripod portion of the Manfroto, and I would have had to buy the head separately. The ball head on this is stiff enough to stay in place, but easy enough to move around. The legs are sturdy. I have rarely had to set down more than one section of the legs. It will get quite tall if you put down both sets. The centre post also has a spot to attach a sandbag if you need to add stability. For the price, it has a lot of good features. Very happy with this purchase.

I think this is a great tripod,not the lightest but very strong and steady.

Worth every penny ! The alloy build makes it bulky but it's stable at every angle as advertised. They also include a spare mounting stage. Indoor or outdoor, this is a beast (a heavy one).

Completamente estable para fotografías en secuencia. La calidad de armado es increíble, eso sí, no es nada ligero, pero vale la pena debido a su gran utilidad. La Ball Head es sumamente sencilla de usar y ajustar. Altura excelente también, así como los ángulos que puede lograr que con otros trípodes es imposible. Muy satisfecho con mi compra.
