These work like a charm!
Using a hammer drill and a 9/16" masonry bit to make the holes, these slid in with zero effort. A few moderate taps with a 4lb hand sledge, and my ~14" thick boulder snapped apart cleanly and easily. I made a couple of follow up splits to break the boulder into more manageable pieces, and these were just as easy. The splitters took absolutely no deformations or damage, and aside from being dusty, look brand new. The rubber o-rings are a nice touch. Not only do they keep the 3 pieces bundled and organized, but they prevent a part from getting away from you and sliding all the way to the bottom of the hole. You can see that the holes I drilled for this split were quite deep. I performed other splits by drilling the holes only to an inch past the depth of the outer pieces, and this worked just as well. 4 to 5 inches is plenty. This is a perfect 5-star product.

Works like it is supposed to.
You'll need a good hammer drill and concrete or stone drill bit. If you can drill a hole deep enough into the rock, these will split it easily. I found that getting a good drill bit is the key, the one that Amazon recommended wasn't great for rocks. But these wedges worked fine and were easy to use. I split multiple rocks and they held up fine.

Works well
Would have given it 5 stars but one broke first time used it.

Works great
Awesome to split a boulder with just a little hammer and these wedges ... and a huge rotary hammer, too, but we don't need to go into that.

Made of durable material
Used this product twice. This product has saved my back multiple times when having to break up concrete post footings and foundations. Next time tough I would probably buy a longer one for deep footings.

They work OK - you get what you pay for!
Have split dozens of rocks with these wedges. They work OK. Worth the extremely low price if you're just busting up easy stones and can drill straight holes with a decent drill. Not professional quality, but good bang for the buck. The wedge itself is what it is, a wedge of steel. The downfall of these (and identical amazon products) is the shims. No matter what size you order, the shims are only 2.5 inches (or so) long. That gives you only 2.5 inches of outward force. It doesn't matter if your wedge is 4 inches long or 8 inches long, its the shim that makes contact with the rock and does the pushing. The basic math of stone splitting is 3 - 4 times the length of the wedges is about how thick of a stone you can split. So in theory a 4" feather/wedge could easily split a 16 inch stone. With these little shims you'll often just crack and split off the surface of the stone rather than breaking through - especially on rounded boulders. I've had them fail like this several times which makes for a long day of re-drilling and rescuing your stuck wedges instead of production.Try for yourself. They're cheap enough.

Easy and Effective
We had a bunch of very large boulders (600-800lbs each) delivered for landscaping and some were too large or awkwardly shaped to move. The right drill bit, a hammer drill, and these things and the rocks were split in 20 minutes. I didn’t realize how easy it was.
