Works but needed 3 to complete bathroom and it damaged Dremel
The bit itself did work but wore out quite quickly and the dust produced gets into the Dremel unit causing problems. My cordless Dremel seized up, but taking apart and cleaning restored to working order, swapped to a corded non Dremel which also seized. Purchased a new corded Dremel but then found that a multi tool with old saw blade did a better job of bulk removal followed by fine detail with the Dremel. In summary the Grout removal bit works but not sure the actual machine is designed to power it.

Works much better than expected.
Works very well if used carefully and precisely. Having read reviews suggesting that this product would snap easily and that you might need to buy more than one, I was a bit anxious about how it would perform. In the end, I needn't have worried. The product works really well and is easy to use - either free-hand or using the stabilising tool for the Dremel (actually fits on another hand-held tool I have too). The key here is to remember that the tool is mainly for taking out small amounts of grout that need to be touched up. If you were doing a very large job, you'd probably be better off using something like the Bosch grout removing tool. However, if what you need is to remove a couple of tiles or remove a small amount of grout (e.g. a metre or two at a time) then this is perfect.Just don't push too hard at the tip and let it do the cutting for you (suitably supported) and it won't snap off as suggested by other reviewers. This is relatively easy for me since I use fine powered tools like this all the time for my work but is something that all dedicated DIY'ers should be able to manage too.

Fabulous tool for removing grout without chipping tiles
We recently had a really badly done grout job on lovely new tiles. The grout all needed removing and re-doing. Nightmare! I ordered a Dremel machine and 2 grout bits; this one (1.6mm) and the 3.2mm one. I had great success with this DREMEL 1.6mm bit, which cut like butter into the grout, and with a gentle side movement I could edge right along the border of each tile without actually touching the tiles and grind out every bit of grout down to a level of about 3mm, which was sufficient to re-grout successfully. HOWEVER, on my first attempt I tried the larger Dremel 3.2mm grout removal bit and it was just too big. Even with my nerves of steel, a steady hand and good eye site, within minutes the 3.2mm nicked the edge of one of my new tiles, which cracked the tile and snapped the Dremel 3.2mm bit. So the bottom line is, the Dremel grout removal bit worked fabulously, and this 1.6mm bit is the one I'd recommend.

Lasts amazingly well
Rakes our grout amazingly well and lasts much longer than I would reasonably expect.

Works well is used with the right tool.
Not the fastest of tools to use, and really works best if used with a corded (not cordless) multi-tool, but it does the job.I think it depends how hard your grout is and how much of it there is to remove. I was taking out floor grout about 5mm deep and 3-4mm wide.

risk of the grout remover being thrown out of the chuck.
The grout remover works well although you need a steady hand to ensure the cuts are a consistent depth. When in use there is a risk of the grout removal bit being thrown out the dremmel chuck. I was not using the dremmel attachment housing at that point due to working in a confined space. When using again I will use a full face visor.

really grout! 1.6mm was best for my tile gaps.
Had some spots of nasty grout that turned black that otherwise spoiled a spotless bathroom, bleach didn't fix it and those silly grout pens only masked it.popped this on the trusty dremel in a dry bathroom and just dremeled out the various bad patches like a dentist with a decay.once in the groove and at 45degree angle the router type bit ate through grout at quiet a rate.performance did slow after 50cm as the bit became worn but still went to complete my 1m job.Be warned it ate easily into the tile only slightly easily as the grout.I had both the 1.6 and 3.2mm grout bits and found the 3.2mm too wide cutting in tiles on both sides at the same time,so if doubt get this one.
