Nice action
I don't know what my husband does with tape measures, he gets through them at an incredible rate. Consequently, I refuse to pay much for them. This is very good value. It's not as 'rattley' as they usually are, but pulls out and retracts nice and smoothly. I hope he doesn't lose it like he usually does...

Good, sturdy, long tape measure
I was tasked with finding a "decent" tape measure for the other half, who it seems can never have enough tools. He already has at least 5 tape measures that I know of, but like any man who likes tinkering, he puts it down, turns around & then can't find it again minutes later in amongst all the other tools & stuff he's using. So, having now gotten himself frustrated with a tape-measures that keep disappearing, I was tasked with getting another one for the collection but given instruction that this one has to be sturdy & not keep bending or twisting when he's trying to measure a distance.Given he is also working on a lengthy project at present, it needed to be long, since the others are only around 10 foot & we end up having to mark the floor & measure again from the mark, which is never ideal when you need an accurate measurement. So, now I had the requirements, I just needed to find something that fit the bill.Thankfully this item came up on the first page & with some good reviews, so I took the plunge & ordered it. I'm glad I did as it saved me hours of trawling through other items & reviews. It is a large case, which is understandable given its 25 foot - but the actual tape itself is also thick enough to prevent twisting & bending when trying to measure things, something that drives us both mad. It doesn't have that bad habit of slowly creeping back in either, as some do. The numbers & markings are easy to read & the whole thing has a good heavy-duty feel to it. I think this should last some considerable time. The only gripe is the loop to put this around your wrist is too small for pretty much anyone - it's like a child-sized loop. Ok to attach it to a tool belt or something, but you won't get it over your hand - you could perhaps loop a few fingers but that's your lot. No idea who thought that a good idea but my understanding is most people don't use it anyway & for the price, it wasn't a deal-breaker.So when I asked for feedback having used it for a few weeks, I was told it meets his needs and therefore he is more than happy with it. Assuming this lasts for a while then it will prove to be a good investment for the tool box.

Nice tape
Nice tape, only problem is the catch doesn't hold the tape in place which can be annoying.

Casing not obviously rubberised as claimed but is hard plastic, small wrist loop
A moderately long length (approx 7.5 metres), the "25 FT Tape Measure, LOLBIU Measuring Tape with Impact Resistant Rubber Covered Case, Strong Lock, Compatible with Inch and Metric." is required as an addition to a technical toolkit used for network installation and PC maintenance (another exists within a DIY toolkit) and to replace a decades-old shorter one that no longer automatically retracts. Options included others in 5m and 10m lengths; this should suffice for most situations. Rather larger and heavier than was expected or required, that is partly necessitated by the tape being 1-inch (25 mm) wide.It is within a hard case in yellow and black, a popular combination with other manufacturers, although it is not and does not obviously have the feel or odour of rubber. The 1-inch wide steel tape can be locked into a specific measure if and when required. The return spring is heat-treated for extra strength and longevity. Markings are both Imperial and metric, the former useful should the UK abandon metric systems post-Brexit (should it ever occur), and claimed to have some wear-resistance.There is a fitted plastic wrist strap but of a size that will preclude most European adults from being able to insert more than 3 or 4 fingers through it; it is just about suitable for a child!Pricing is comparable to many others of Eastern origin but lower than the top-branded models. It should provide several years of service.
