Great battery. Would recommend
Amazing. It lasts for a really long time and doesn’t take too long to charge. It also helps reduce waste by not having to get new batteries constantly. I’ve had it for years now and it still retains charge for many hours. Would definitely recommend.

Holds the charge
Have been using the battery on a head torch for a few years and it holds the charge well. Even on full power, for the dark winter nights, it doesn't need charging often.

Five years on
I have had this head torch with two of these rechargeable batteries for five years. On call all hours as a farm vet it hasn’t let me down. One on charge in van, the other in my head torched. Great buy!

2nd Battery also dead! UPDATED REVIEW
This is the third Core battery I’ve got - the first game with the headlamp direct from Petzl and worked fine. I then decided to buy a spare from Amazon. The first one wouldn’t hold its charge, Amazon replaced it and the second one won’t hold its charge either!!! Extremely frustrating for what othetwise seems to be a quality product!! UPDATE!!!!!!!!! Having phoned Petzl to complain about TWO duff batteries, the guy in Customer Support (Simon) has solved the problem. If you open the battery compartment and check that the lower right hand connection is properly proud - if not lever it out with a small screwdriver - this can often solve the problem. It did in my case! There seems to be a design issue with the CORE battery pack in that the +ve terminal is very prominent and if you insert it the wrong way round say, it compresses the lower right battery contact and the battery won’t necessarily work! On this basis my * rating goes to 4* - not 5 as there’s onviously a design fault inherent in the CORE battery pack.

Great longevity, expensive but worth every penny
So much better than having batterys that last a few days then end up being thrown, lasts a few weeks then recharge and reuse, great job PETZL. Saves money in the long term and doesnt creatate as much waste.

Suddenly stops working
Last purchased 2018. Used sporadically. Suddenly stopped working. Tried to charge. Seemed to be successful charge as battery light changed from red to green. When battery inserted into head torch nothing. Repeated process and nothing again. The cost of the battery is quite expensive at ~£26. Looking at other users' comments, it seems that it is quite a common fault. Now thinking that it is not worth the money and may go back to other types of rechargeable battery. I am wrong?
