Great item, great value

I bought this specifically because I wanted to know what to plant and do month by month, but it's all a bit too vague and randomly organised ( sections like 'early summer' 'late summer' ) so I bought 'Allotment Month by Month' also, which is much easier to follow as a timeline. However the RHS book is still a fascinating read, lots of useful information and pretty pictures. The 2 books work well as a pair for me. If the RHS are reading this, I thought the tiny paragraphs on crop rotation were poorly explained- what we want is a list of what types of veg are in which group of plants!

Very informative, tells you when to sow what and Harvest etc

Good book for any beginner grower, well laid out etc. I would say one thing, it's clearly aimed at a certain class of people. Those who have a lot of money, space and a certain situation in life. Certain circumstances are just assumed by the author and It can be unnecessarily complex in explanation at times. But, if you can over look these things, it's a good book.

Book bought for a friend who has taken possession of an allotment but has no idea about how to grow fruit, veg, etc. He was delighted with it as it explains everything in lay-mans terms how to test and prepare the ground, what things to grow and when, how to tend them and harvest. After giving the book to my friend, he spent hours reading and re-reading it...until 2am one day! 10/10 RHS!
