easy to set-up and use, great form factor
This smart plug almost set itself up right out of the box using the Smart Life app. Since I've already used the Smart Life app and have set up an account and granted the app the needed permissions the new device just appeared, waiting for me to tap on it and set it up.The form factor of this device is great! Even with the removable shelf it does not block access to the second outlet of a duplex receptacle. Manual power switches for each outlet are provided on the front of the device. By providing two separately switchable outlets the user can have two smart managed devices or simply leave one outlet live for ordinary use while using smart management on the other. My only nitpick is that receptacle 1 is to the right and receptacle 2 is to the left when the wall outlet is installed in the typical ground prong down manner. And the illustration of the device in the app is reversed left/right, also. In my use "Halloween" is the left outlet and "fan" is the right.

Great smart plug but beware of safety certifications missing.
This review is for a YIFAN Dual Smart Plug 10A, WiFi Bluetooth Extender Compatible with Alexa and Google Home, No Hub Required, Remote Control and Timer Function, 2.4G WiFi Only, with Outlet Shelf, White.Arrival:The smart plug was packaged in an attractive slip-sleeve carton and fixed in place inside it. It contained the plug, a shelf, and the manual. The overall look of the smart plug seemed to reflect a tight, tough, and appears to be made with thermoset, Urea-Formaldehyde (UF) plastic. It is a three-prong device that connects the attached switched device's ground. Note that there are no electrical certification markings on the device. Special care must be taken. The FCC marking is the American Federal Communication Commission for noise that may disturb other devices and the RoHS marking. For this product, google 2AUY6-DS-2211M, FCC ID. Please see the Electrical Certification notes below. The overall dimensional specification and overall appearance matched the Amazon ad. This plug will not interfere with the second electrical outlet position. The plug comes with a snap-on shelf that may hold items such as a smartphone for charging and may be left off.Electrical Characteristics:The Amazon Ad includes a UNSPSC code 39122200. This is the USSPSC class code for electrical switches and accessories, and a sub number would be 39122210, which is a pressure switch. There is no sub-number for a remote control solid-state relay. The UPC 740706993489 is the barcode number. There's no reason for these two numbers to be shown. EAN is not displayed correctly, and its reference could be related to the bar code. The controller type or the remote controller that controls the plug may be Amason Alexa, Google Assistant or Tuya Smart life. Tuya offers development platforms and internet services for the manufacturer. The input voltage is shown as 110.00. Assume 110 VAC. The maximum switching current is shown as 10.00( should be 10) amps, but it doesn't say if it is for the whole assembly or per channel. For safety considerations, assume 5 amps per channel. This is a Bluetooth/WiFi device, and Bluetooth is required for voice control; otherwise, the WiFi is all that is needed with the Smart Life app.Note that all electrical values are AC with resistive loads. Inductive loads may harm the circuits in certain instances. Inductive loads are relays and contactors. Snubbers may be necessary.Installation:The manual provides a guide to installing the app for the particular smartphone and how to add the device to the app. Tuya Smart Life app is straightforward to add a device. Often, the app will quickly identify the device to add, cutting down the number of actions to take to complete the installation. However, the plug and app do not work with 5G wireless systems. There are also QR codes for additional information and guides.Functional Testing:The smart plug was tested as a straightforward on/off switch with timing schemes. The maximum load was 2 amps resistive (load resistor). Conclusion:For safety reasons, this plug may pose a problem. Although it has been designed and tested in the owner's factory for the intended application, there are no third-party independent testing and certification. Otherwise, this device met all expectations. Voice control was not tested because of my hearing disability; however, the design appears to match Tuya's recommendations; hence, there should be no problem associated with the device.Electrical Certification: Any electrical purchasing in Canada should be aware of the electrical regulation to choose and buy a product that is accepted and safe in Canada. To distinguish which product is safe, you should check its certification markings. Of course, several accepted domestic and international institutes are testing and issuing the certificates. The most significant markings are CSA, ETL and cULus. You can also view others accepted on the Electrical Safety Authority webpage. These certificates prove that the product has been tested independently for performance and safety. In North America, it's necessary to pass tests and have certificates to give end users peace of mind to buy the products. On the other hand, all electricians, journeymen and homeowners must obey this rule, and failure to use certified electrical products can result in fines of up to a million dollars and jail time.In The United States of America, the National Electrical Code requires that all items installed in a building be tested by an NRTL(OSHA's Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) Program,) which generally means UL listed or CSAus. This does not apply to your personal use items but to any fixed appliances or electrical equipment installed within your home or commercial facility. This requirement applies if your local jurisdiction has adopted the national electrical code. The RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, or 'RoHS2' as it is sometimes called, is a CE marking Directive and is a European law. The various RoHS markings on different equipment pieces are illegal and have no legal meaning or standing, and the marking should be CE.

Dual timer plug , can be controlled separately
These plugs connect seamlessly to smart life app. I can set it up on a timer and it works just fine. I like that i can set two different timers for this plug. I also like the tray that it comes with for leaning my phone on. Perfect for Christmas lights.Update: 1 year later and the right side does not work. No power comes out of that right side

Allows me to remotely control the temperature in my pet rat room.
Works perfectly for what I wanted to do. I needed to be able to turn on an air conditioner in my pet rat room if the temperature reached a certain temp, then turn it off again if the temp dropped to a certain temp OR if a certain time was reached. I was able to use the Tuyi app to set up the smart home temperature and humidity sensor and this double outlet which I plugged the window A/C unit into. Once I set up the scenes for these settings I gave it a test and when the temp reached the high temp the outlet was turned on and the air conditioner came on, then in the evening when the preset time came it turned off. The temperature was still just a degree or so above my low temp so it didn’t go off for being too cool, but the scheduled time activated the action of turning the outlet off.Easy to add to my Tuya app, and easy to program a scene. Everything worked perfect. The two outlets on this unit can be programmed separately as they each have their own identity on the app. I have several devices in my home that are on the Tuya app so as soon as I plugged this device in my app immediately found it. I obviously recommend this and other smart devices that can link up to the Tuya app as well.

Perfect with a Bonus!
The little shelf that goes on top of it was a little bonus that I didn't even notice in the description. What caught my eye was the use of the Smart Life app, which is IMO by far the best smart home app. I also really like that each plug is independently controlled and only takes up 1 socket on the wall and expands it to 2 so I didn't need to hook up some other sort of socket expander to be able to hook up what I wanted. I'm very happy, and the little shelf thing is a great addition that I didn't expect, nor do I really need, but cool to know I have it and may find a use for in the future should I ever move it or re-purpose the device. I do a lot of juggling with smart home devices so I appreciate these little things that may serve an even better purpose someplace else in my home, and this device serves many purposes and would be useful in many different scenarios.

Wifi connectivity is not good.
Having a difficult time with the wifi connectivity. I have excellent wifi throughout my house even with my exterior cameras but this thing is always showing offline. This is a deal breaker. I had to move it really close to the router to get it initially connected. I used the Smart Life app to do the initial setup. I had a few problems but I figured it out. Make sure your router password is correct or you will never connect. The app doesn't tell you why your not connecting you just can't connect. This is my first home network item other than my cameras. It wasn't a breeze and I can't compare it to other home network items but I can't give it 5 stars.
