Helpful, interesting perspective on home and life improvement!
This book helps you get your house in order, and wonderfully, the by-product is a little bit of self-help along the way. I love that it is full of layers of advice and offers no guilt if you can't commit to every change. Many of the projects this book suggests cost no money yet do so much to lift your home and your spirits. I recommend reading it from the forward, as it is nice to know a little bit about the author and her journey before you begin your own. This book is a great tool, and I know I will refer back to it for years to come. I can honestly say I like my home so much more now, after connecting with it through Finding Yourself at Home..

Valuable Resource
This book's value for your home and life is tremendous. The vibe and atmosphere of your home indeed translate to your life. Making a change, even a small one, makes a huge difference in your attitude and energy. Before reading this I had been wanting to make some changes to my home, but I didn't know exactly what to do. While reading through, I was able to intentionally think through my home and began to feel inspired so that I could be deliberate in the changes that I wanted to make. Some were big like rearranging furniture, and others were small like adding a plant, but these physical changes in my home have led to mental and emotional changes in myself, and I am excited to see how those continue.

Exactly what I needed!
My family recently had to move out of a home we loved into a home we were unenthusiastic about (due to family medical circumstances). I stumbled across this book the same week we moved, and it has been such a godsend. I loved the blend of spirituality/mysticism with practical design ideas. As a seeker of meaning, and someone who cares about aesthetics, this book perfectly integrated the two, and the result was magical and energizing. Reading this book has helped me embrace our new home as a ‘collaborator’ in creating a new season for our family. I will be coming back to this book again and again, displaying it in my home (it’s a beautiful read, inside and out), and gifting it to friends! Thanks, Emily! <3

Unleash the power of your home to improve your life!
I loved this book! The author uses her extensive design and feng shui experience to explain the powerful influence our living spaces have on us, and gives the reader practical ways to apply this wisdom intentionally, so our homes support us.Ms. Grosvenor has laid out this transforming philosophy in an accessible way. She doesn't dictate your taste, what you should do or how you should do it--instead suggesting questions you should be asking yourself that will lead to your own personal solutions. Finally, the book is not only attractive to look at, it's delightfully well-written and not at all preachy. Highly recommended.

Best gift (for yourself!)
This book has been floating around my house for a few months now... from room to room as I digest all of the thoughts and ideas contained in its beautiful pages. Things I love: you can read it all at once, or as I did, in moments and days farther apart, it stands up well to being digested in smaller bits. The writer has such a candid tone, it feels easy to let her in. It's deeper than you think, this process of inhabiting space. Ms. Grosvenor does such a lovely job of inviting readers to participate, to be present in their space(s), to be creative, to partner with their home (or office, or, etc.). I found this inspiring. Also, it's a beautiful book... the colors, texture, weight of it are pleasing and make it a perfect gift (it was gifted to me!). I've given it to several friends on moving to a new home, or after a big change, one after a divorce, one after changing her career. It feels like alchemy for the home, reflection, ritual, observation, creation. You won't be disappointed!

Space creation
This book came to me when I needed it most! Feeling bored but still in love with my home, this book gave me some realistic (for a busy person with 3 kids) ways to refresh the look and feel of my favorite place.

Not what I thought it was but I still liked it
This isn’t a “how to organize your house” book. If you’re looking for tips on that, find something else. What this book IS, is a way to connect to the energy in your home, utilize feng shui, take your purpose and staging your story in the home you live in. It helps you see your space and the pieces in it as messaging to your senses. How does a room make you feel? Do the objects in the room feel warm and inviting or cold and unwelcoming? This book touches on quite a bit.Another aspect is leftover energy. I found this book super interesting in that regard. I believe in energy existing in spaces beyond the people that inhabited them. If you don’t believe in anything but a house being a house, you’ll find this book not to your liking. I appreciate the fact there are some tidbits about research done as well, I’m always up for a good fact.I think the information contained in this book, at the very least, will get your wheels turning and considering the space you live in and HOW it affects you. This book opens up your perspective.

Real life-changing magic right here
My house and I weren't getting along very well. It was once the perfect size for our young family of 4. Things got snug when we became a family of 5. When we began homeschooling 3 kids in 3 different grades, it became an unbearable squeeze. But like many Americans in the current economy, we are stuck here.I eagerly read this book hoping to find some tricks to make my relationship with our house more functional at the very least, if not warm and fuzzy. It changed my whole perspective while being a genuinely enjoyable read. I love how Emily describes all the different aspects of our homes and gives such actionable ideas. Homeschooling immediately started going smoother. Instead of dreading being at home, I found myself wanting to be here more. Heck, I could suddenly see myself working from home. Within a month of reading the book and making some small but key changes, I got a job offer out of the blue to work part-time from home in my dream field.I can't say this book is 100% responsible for landing the job (and I can't say that it ISN'T, either 😉), but I CAN say this book is 100% helping me to thrive in it.No matter what your goals or situation, I think everyone can find something to gain from Find Yourself at Home.
