This tool works great for the transfer case and the front differential on the E70 X5 35d no need to cut an allen key to fit. To get the fill on the front diff and Tcase it would be very useful to have a ratcheting flex head wrench but the open end works too. Fit both drains no problem. Definitely a little pricey for a little socket but worth it.

The clearance for getting a hex key between the ZF transmission and transfer case housing is extremely narrow. It is difficult to get a hex key in there to remove the fill plug for the transfer case. This tool works perfectly. Excellent quality. Great price.

The one side is 14mm the other side is 19mm. The 14 mm is for the fill plug on the side of the manual transmission, and for that one you do not need a stubby tool. There's a lot of room for that plug. The drain plug is 17mm, so this nice stubby tool does NOT fit in the drain plug. If it was 17mm it would be a very useful tool because the length is perfect to fit between the plug and the exhaust pipe. So this tool is useless.

Works excellent for removing 14mm drain plugs. Can be used in a 19mm socket, or in a 19mm wrench for low profile access. Ball detent keeps it from falling out while in use.

This worked great to change the transfer case fluid on my 2020 BMW X5 m50i. It makes it easy to gain access because of the clearance. Simply used a 19mm ratcheting wrench on it.
