Brenda BlethynVera: Series 11 (Eps 5 & 6) [DVD]

As usual a brilliant series again, well acted and shows the police in a good light for a change.

I enjoyed these two Vera episodes, which were classic detective stories, where one only discovers the culprit right at the end of the story. Vera is akin to a modern day “Columbo”, in that she remains tenacious looking through the obvious to catch the real suspect for the crime. Very good acting and story lines. I much prefer to watch the dvd than have all the constant advertisement interruptions of watching it on ITV.

Love all the Vera series. These are always good stories and such good actors.

I am a Vera fan, and was so excited to purchase this. A female version of Columbo, a lady in a Mac. Who solves problems no matter what she has to fo. The cast of Vera are fantastic they all work really well as a team hope there are many more series to come

What a bonus in season 11 we get two extra episodes of Vera. Brenda is the best. Midsomer Murders, Shetland and Vera are my three favorite British Crimes shows. I couldn't wait for the American release; so since I have an All Region DVD I purchased the British release. The British releases have been released in two episode releases and theses last two episodes were released a year after episode 4. You wonder about the Brits sometime. Two great episodes of Vera and poor Kenny has been through it all. Great story lines. You must have the subtitles on to understand some of their speech nuances.

Really enjoy this series

The DVD is of good quality, but meant for the UK market. To play it in North America, it requires a player that is universal.

Amazon can only advertise product information provided by the manufacturer. In this case, Amazon was not informed that this DVD will not play on American TVs. But Amazon's return policy is fairly generous. Money spent for the DVD and shipping was returned and I did not have to return the DVD. I scrapped it.
