This double socket converter feels well made and the on/off switches have a 'good' feel. It comes with two locating screws which are too short for most back boxes. They are 40mm long and I found that they were much to short. I expect that for most purchasers this will be the same. I ended up using my existing long screws. Additionally no covers for the fitting screws were provided. Actually fitting this socket was not easy as whilst the cable holes were more than big enough to very easily insert 2 x 2.5mm ring main cables actually getting the clamping screw to make a good clamp was a very hit and miss affair. This because the cable sockets are so wide and there is no plate for the clamping screw to push on to so you just have to get the cable ends in line with the clamping screws! It was a case of perseverance until the cables were satisfactorily clamped.When fitting any new socket you have to work with what the original installer left you with regard to the length of the tails that are present and for me this makes converter sockets more difficult than a straight replacement as this socket has its cable clamping sockets in a row at the top of the socket.I need more of these items but will not be buying this item again. I shall endeavour to find a converter socket that has a clamp for the cables.

Excellent quality upgrade for a single socket.Switch off power, remove single socket screws and disconnect live,neutral ,earth. Connect wires to rear of this double converter socket, tighten and screw back in with new screws included.10 mins and you have a good quality double socket replacing your old single.Screws are same distance as existing single back box so no need to have the expense and hassle of changing this.

Easy to fit - does what it says on the box but remember that are thicker

Fitting this single to twin socket converter is as simple as fitting any socket face plate. The only negative is that it can be quite difficult to insert a plug, which is a real pain.Ideal for using in a situation where electrical items remain plugged in, but if the sockets are in constant use, I'd give it a miss.

Very easy to install. Turn off the power at the consumer unit first then remove the existing single socket.Wire as per the instructions and then refit to the wall. Took me about 20 minutes although I was be slow and cautious.It does protrude from the wall more than a normal socket so bear that in mind if you intend to have furniture up against it. It also benefits from its own 13A fuse too.All in all a very quick and easy way to add another socket.

Easy to double any single socket, without having to pay an electrician.Anyone who can use a screwdriver and turn off at the power board before starting can do this. No more difficult than putting a plug on.Highly recommend

Easy to change, removed the ring main fuse and 15 minutes later single outlet was a double. Have fitted one before and much easier than chiselling out the wall to fit a double box.
