A Dot in the Snow Hardcover – October 4, 2016

I always get mad at myself for buying books I should just take out of the library, but I AM SO HAPPY I BOUGHT THIS ONE. It is so sweet and deep and the illustrations are adorable! There is a little glittery sheen on the cover (don't worry - it doesn't come off) that make it extra special to my 7 year old daughter and 2 year old son, both of whom love this. I heard about it because someone in the Northshire Bookstore in Arlington, Vermont recommended it, but I bought it on Amazon as I'm a bad person. :(

A really charming book which my two grandchildren (4&2) really enjoy.

A very tender story of a baby polar bear discovering a human playmate. The illustrations of their joy in playing in the snow are delightful. Instead of remaining merely a quiet book on fun and games in the snow, Ms Averiss creates a touching tale of bravery. To help his friend, Miki must overcome his fears and adversity. With a sweet ending that celebrates their friendship and reunites each in a cuddle with their own mother, this is a wonderful winter book to snuggle with.

I looked on YouTube to see if this book was "read aloud" and after viewing, had to have the book. It's wonderful. The story is so cute and the pictures captivating. I read it to my preschool class and they loved it!

It's a nice quick story for young children. It addresses friendship and family. Illustrations were well done, and the text type was well chosen. I enjoyed it and would recommend.

Lovely book, my two and a half year old son really likes the story in this. Nice gentle message about how parting from mum can be fun and she’ll always come back.
