Shamrock Thimble

Bit of a gimmick?
I had hoped that the silicone shoulder of this thimble would give greater coverage of skin and therefore more protection, as I seem to have a habit of using the side of my finger to push a needle through, rather than the tip.I have tried to sew differently, but that didn't work, so I figured I would try a different thimble!Yes, it does come further down the finger. No, it does not protect. The back end of the needle goes straight through the silicone and is no better than a normal (and much cheaper) all-metal thimble. This is when sewing through two layers of not-very-thick patchwork cotton, therefore I'm not putting a huge amount of pressure on the needle.Cannot recommend

Would not buy again
When sewing for long periods of time, which I do because it brings enjoyment, the most important thing for me is to have a thimble that fits right and is not giving me issues that would discourage my sewing. I bought this, and the yellow one in the same brand and style, which is slightly smaller, to be sure to have a good fit. Still, the rubber at the bottom is a different experience, which I not always find is welcome. It makes my finger sweat slightly and it becomes sticky.I have dozens of thimbles around in my many sewing boxes, and I only reach for this one when I cannot find any better.

Good Quality
I bought this as I was fed up of my silver thimble flying off under furniture all the time and thought the silicone would adhere better to my finger. It does, but is thicker than the silver and whilst it doesn't slip off my finger, it doesn't side beneath the fabric either. Also, it was expensive for what it is. I shall persevere for the time being as I have yet to decide which is more annoying; crawling under the table for a flying silver thimble or rucking up material that fails to glide over the silicone?

The best thimbles out on the market, brilliant for those who struggle using normal thimbles.
I absolutely love clover products because they are brilliantly thought out, and they are the best quality product for people who hand sew.I do a lot of hand sewing and at the moment I’m hand quilting and need a thimble to protect my finger. I can’t use normal thimbles but the clover ones I can become they have a soft silicone cover which I hardly notice on my finger. The metal end tip catches the needle in the right place, and with the dimpled base, the needle sits in the right place for how ever you sew.I have tried so many different plastic and metal thimbles, but I can only ever get on with the clover variety. Please note with the clover thimbles that they come in different colours. The colours represent different finger sizes. I have an average size fingers so the pink one does me fine.I do find if I’ve been stitching for hours, the silicon becomes even softer and a bit bigger on my fingers, also the same if I’m stitching outside in hot weather, but I can still use it, it’s not such a snug fit which I like.

Worth spending the extra money on.
Love this little thimble and it was worth spending an extra few pounds on it. I love the pink colour for the medium size. I only have small hands but still chose medium (because of the colour!) and it fits fine. It feels like a quality piece of embroidery equipment. I had looked at cheaper thimbles but, I’ve had them in the past and I read the reviews for this thimble. Now having bought one I can see why it’s achieved 5*

fits perfectly
Just Received this thimble, exactly what I wanted. I was unsure about the size, but it will fit my index finger or middle finger, depending on my preference. However, for someone with dainty hands, I'd recommend checking on the Small, as well. I can just fit in Small for kitchen gloves, if this helps.

Comfortable and flexible
This is the only thimble I will use for hand quilting now. It’s flexible, and comfortable to wear and use. It allows for plenty of movement so makes hand quikting so much easier and quicker. The bright colour helps when I lose it (constantly!)

Brilliant
Having read the good reviews I thought I would give this a go, having long since given up on all-metal thimbles which slipped off my fingers or made them sweaty. This is remarkable. Fits really well and the ridges mean that air can circulate. Very comfortable. I'm thinking of buying another in case I lose this one
