Good kit: made by people who know what they are doing
If you are looking to buy one of these then I have already been on the same path. As a technical photographer working in industry for 35 years+, I was surprise by how well this works. It is especially useful if you are doing multi-camera video media and want your cameras to match up. All sensors drift a bit but if you are matching Panasonic, Sony and Canon cameras (say) then the colour and contrast variations is really difficult to fix longhand. So long story short: Unlike some of the other offerings this clam-shell unit is self-protecting and easy to hold on site/studio without getting fingers and thumbs on - or in front of - the colour swatches. Watch a few YouTube videos of people using calibrators and you will wonder how anyone could be stupid enough to manufacture these things so that you cover the targets when you hold the slim edges! The unt has both female and (self-retracting) mail 1/4" threads, which is both intelligent and useful. Calibration protocol is simple enough. If you are doing something colour accurate for fine-art Giclee print (like artwork) then you can supply the image with integrated or separate colour chart to allow end user to calibrate their output to your beautifully calibrated files. In Photoshop RAW, you will see all the fine colour adjustments slide out left and right of the zero positions once the profile is applied. Rather pleasing and very effective.

Great piece of kits
Combined with the Spider 5 Pro my colours are far better.

Good color chart, rubbish calibration software
I seems reasonably well-made, but the software that you need to use to create a calibration file is USELESS The idea is that you take a picture/video, import it into the software, and it creates a calibration profile that is imported into Lightroom/photoshop etc But it just plain doesn't work It can't identify the colour blocks, and produces a profile that is really only useable in Lightroom. I say useable, but even that is wrong, because the software didn't identify the blocks correctly, so the result is random Luckily, my main usage is for video, and there are various plugins or native functionality that you can use to analyse the blocks and create a LUT So, for photographers - avoid, for videographers, check what built in calibration you have (Da Vinci resolve has it, Premiere does not) because you may need to buy a calibration plugin to use this

it's a handy and good item to have in my bag
I do think this item is a little expensive for what it is.... but honestly to save time on post editing, it's a handy and good item to have in my bag. So I'm not going to complain too much

Not as durable as the manufacturer would have you believe.
This is the second Datacolor Spyder Checkr - SCK100 I have purchased in less than a year. Unfortunately the impact resistant plastic was not as durable as Datacolor would have you believe. The folder fell apart at the lower hinge and because I was unable to purchase a replacement plastic folder, I had to buy a complete unit. In summary, this is a great product and would have received 5 star rating if the plastic folder been a replaceable item.

It is big so you cannot miss it when setting up your calibration
The title says it all, but if you look at the colour swatches it has a distinct series for skin tones not commonly found in such colour checkers.

It's Magic
This tool is magic. You don't even need to download the plug-in for it to work amazing. I prefer Lightroom over Lightroom Classic so I didn't download the plug-in yet. I took a photo at the beginning of the session with this in the background. When I imported to LR, I just used the white balance tool in the second lightest white/grey. It instantly made the photo come together. Attached are 2 finished examples with one of the pre-edited photos. All color balance was achieved through this product.
