The world changed...what should I do? This book helps!
The pandemic changed so much of what used to make sense with work and money. In the book the author takes a fresh look at old questions, and sometimes comes up with new answers (and sometimes not...that's reassuring.) And the book doesn't just roll out new logic for spending, real estate, employment, going into your own business, retiring etc...it also emphasizes that look at ourselves...what kind of a person am I, how will I feel about this, and takes individuals into account. The world changed...should I change what I"m doing? The book is a great tool for answering the question.

SMART ADVICE FOR PEOPLE AT ALL LEVELS OF INCOME
I have often taken Jill Schlesinger’s advice on CBS but I wish I had read this book before I quit my job early on in the pandemic. I would’ve been better prepared which in turn would’ve given me more peace of mind. This book is jammed-packed with financial insight and terrific advice for anyone contemplating a change in their life. What I especially liked was the chapter on “Bully Your Boss” which stands for Button up your big ask; Understand the full picture; Lose the ego (sort of); Leave time to practice the conversation; and don’t Yuck it up.I also loved the chapter on “Family Planning (No, Not That Kind) where she wrote: Family relationships matter when you’re Making a Great Money Reset.I highly recommend reading this book for people at all levels of income.

Standard book on personal finance - not much new
The Great Money Reset is a personal finance book that covers familiar topics such as investing, retirement accounts, real estate, and taxes. The author tries to present the information through stories, but unfortunately, the book fails to bring any new ideas to the table. The content is mostly common sense and can be found in many other places. Overall, I was disappointed with the book as it did not offer anything groundbreaking or unique in the world of personal finance. If you're looking for a fresh perspective on managing your money, this book may not be for you.

How to do something totally different
This is a comprehensive guide for how to responsibly blow up your life, monetarily speaking. In the last several years a lot of people have taken stock of their work and family situations and really examined what is and isn't working for them. Sometimes a radical change is needed--a sabbatical, career change, new business, or even early retirement--and this book lays out exactly how to think that through. It includes the basics (taking stock of your assets and liabilities, realistically assessing your spending, etc.) but also ventures into more complex topics like dealing with the IRS and estate planning. It's definitely written for a somewhat privileged audience and those with some familiarity with personal finance, but it's organized well and pretty readable for being a heavy topic. I would encourage anyone pondering a major life change to pick this up and heed the advice to be best prepared! Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

An Excellent Guide to Help Align Your Financial Life With Your Values and Desires
I began listening to Jill Schlesinger's podcast after the COVID pandemic and I appreciate her perspective about money as a tool that enables us to live meaningful lives. Often, we have to make difficult decisions in order to create real and positive changes in all areas of our lives. The Great Money Reset is a book that helps the reader with practical steps, information and guidance needed to make changes in their financial lives. I especially enjoyed the real-life examples of people who worked through their own money and life resets. If you are looking to make a change that will impact your financial life, this book is an excellent resource.
