Sainlogic Wireless Weather Station with Outdoor Sensor, Weather Forecast, Temperature, Air Pressure, Humidity, Wind Gauge, Rain Gauge

UPDATE 8-13:Sainlogic offered a $20 gift card for "an honest review" of thisweather station, which is what I submitted. After the review wassubmitted Sainlogic offered an additional $5 if I would change therating from 4 stars to 5 stars – something that I find deceptive. I haveelected to forego the entire $25 incentive and lower the rating to 3 stars.This weather station is useful. At a placement of 7' above the ground,the outdoor temp sensor reports 2F too warm on a calm day when theradiation shield is hit by sunlight on either side of solar noon but alight breeze corrects it. The outdoor unit and indoor consolecommunicate properly through an 8" reinforced concrete wall at adistance of 42 feet.As of this writing, the url for the free PC software that is printed inthe user manual goes to a "Deleted item" at Dropbox. However, Sainlogicprovided an emailed link to the software at We Transfer upon request.Before installing the software, I uploaded it to Virustotal whichreturned 1 positive (Cybereason) and 67 negatives. The softwareinstalled easily with anti-malware programs running and works well on myWin 10.

The first device received came in DOA. Customer support with the company really stepped up and immediately sent a replacement device. They were very good to work with and changed my opinion about the brand.The new system came in as promised. I installed the device and found the documentation easy to read and setup went very smooth. The display was easy to read and the readings on the display were very accurate.I can now recommend this device to anyone that wants accurate weather at their location.

Poorly Written PC Software comes with this Otherwise Good Weather Station.If it's important for you to look at your weather station's data on your computer, DO NOT buy this weather station. Here's a list of ONLY SOME of the things you'll find wrong with the included Sanlogic PC Software that reads the station's weather data:* So poorly written that you can't even resize or move the program's windows. The program just places its full-size windows on your screen ... and there they stay, in your way of doing other tasks ... forever, until you close the program.* The program doesn't auto-refresh the current weather data. So, EVERY TIME, if you want to look at updated weather data, you have to press an Update Button and wait for a long delay.* Difficult To See and Distinguish the Displayed Curves of Weather Data. If you can imagine 7 faint curves on your screen, all INDISTINGUISHABLE and intertwining with each other, and every curve looks to be the same color ... yet every curve represents a different weather read-out like rain or barometer, or wind, or humidity ... that is what you'll see if you use the included PC software for this weather station. USELESS.* NO Customization ALLOWED. The poor display choices that are the defaults ... CANNOT BE CHANGED BY THE USER. Can't change the nearly invisible color of each curve, can't display more than one data curve on a graph (ie to see the relationship between barometric pressure and wind, for example), can't change which data is displayed on the main window, or even how it looks when displayed. You're stuck with the awful unchangable display choices made by Sanlogic.* Timescales are UNUSABLE on the graphs. Want to see what happened at 4pm yesterday on the weather data? Good Luck. There is a bug in the PC Software that only shows what DAY it is. NO TIME IS SHOWN in the time-scale of any of the graphs, unless you zoom in to just a few hours of data.* The PC Program forgets all your choices of how you want to see your data and resets to sanlogic's defaults ... every time you use it. Oh? ... did you tell the program you didn't want to see both wind gusts and wind average on the same graph because they make an indistinguishable hash of the screen when displayed at the same time? Well ... you'll have to turn off one of the curves every single time you use it ... because the program doesn't remember any choices you make ... every single time.* Sanlogic Weather Stations Unable To Use Other, Better Weather Software that is readily available for free (for example, the Awesome CUMULUS program, available for free and able to read most other leading weather station's data, and give incredible, highly customizable, easy to see displays). Since the included Sanlogic PC weather software is USELESS, we asked Sanlogic Support if the weather station's data can be exported to other, better programs. The answer was ... NO.Conclusion - The weather station itself is excellent. The Sanlogic PC Software that reads the weather station's data ... is bargain-basement trash software not fit to use.

I got this for my teenager who loves weather. It’s accurate and easy to set up but only in a vertical stance. Id have gone 5 stars if it could be attached from a lateral perspective such as the side of a pole instead atop it.The terminal is easy to read but not from across the room. Came quickly and made my birthday kiddo very happy.

The Sainlogic Weather Station has all the features that I was looking for. The Display Console clearly displays an amazing amount of information. The setup was straightforward and presented no difficulties. The mounting options for the Sensor were varied enough to accommodate my needs. I found that the User Manual is well written and very complete. I am delighted with the Sainlogic Weather Station and the purchase price was far lower than other units that I considered.

I’d like to see a little larger monitor

Super easy set up...worked right out of the box. The outdoor unit is very light weight so ideal for mounting on a thin pole. The display is bright and contains a lot of information. The only con is the display is small, only 5 and 1/2 inches measured diagonally. The initial temperature and humidity calibrations were off as indicated by significant discrepancies between indoor and outdoor readings after the outdoor sensor was placed next to the indoor unit for 3 days. The unit does have calibration capability so this is not a big deal.
