wondering if anyone that purchased this did not smell the strong rubber odor, that would not go away??

I smelled it for the first few hours. It wasn't a strong smell at all. I would definitely recommend it.

Will this work with a wood surface on top of it

Is it true 24" height or does it run shorter?

Mine was about a half inch shy of 24" but still overhangs my computer desk. Still wider than any other mouse pad I was able to find online within the same price range.
