But Caulem insisted that she had to go there. He was controlled by Mab and he had too do her bidding but he tried desperately to aid her with his shadows. But their fighting with Mab whom is very powerful and tortured all of thise around her especially Caulem , but the plan too overturned her reign doesn't go far and the specter of her visions revealed to her but took her power and strength so now she's at the mercy of a tormented mab who will kill Estrella's mate again if she doesn't comply, she will never abandon her love for Caulem

hmmmmm
Interesting. I will say I enjoyed it. I had read reviews that didn’t like it and said it was just filler. But I liked that it gave more history and wasn’t just spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️. It is a story and I think that is where some readers get their knickers in a knot. They want it tied up quick.Similar books Lady of Darkness, Fourth Wing. They have more meat to them. Not a 5 because there was some drawn out about Mab that was just “dumb”.Glad to see some retribution.

Disappointed - left turn from the first 2 books
I absolutely love the first two books but this one just missed the mark. Action scenes were repetitive. I feel like it dragged on with no progress in the plot. I caught myself think “ok, where is this going? Let’s get it together guys” The characters seemed to just accept their fate with no problem solving being done. There were several cut scenes that were oddly placed and every time I thought “uhm ok but what happened after that?” …and the ending scenes were just objectively not good. It seemed like the author didn’t know where to take the story.I’ll still read the last book but hopefully the FMC and MMC have more scenes together. Not in like a spicy way but how in the first two books they were together for the majority and I didn’t enjoy how this book was a complete contrast.**spoilers below**...I’m really annoyed by the whole mystery aspect of what she is. Why are we still leaving this question unanswered? And for the love of god, WHY didn’t she say that they’re not to be separated when she made the deal at the end!?! It’s moronic. We know how careful she is when she speaks, and she learned her lesson the first time with the bad deal after the maze. It’s illogical. So collectively, we readers have the following questions open for book 4 -Caldris died so why didn’t the bond between Maeve and him sever? How did she evade the blood oath for them to die together? What is Estrella?Who is her father? How will Caldris and Estrella become unbound to the Mauve? Will they complete the mating bond? What happened with her ability to control snakes? That was hardly addressed this book.Where are Caldris’ wolves? Will Estrella accept her monster or always view it as an extension of herself?

ok ok lol
*some spoilers!* I wanted to give this 4 stars, bcuz I felt like the book had some fluff & took forever to get to the point. Like some new drama happened, & here I go again trying to speed read to get to the good parts. But then I realized that the book still was able to keep my interest with the good parts so decided I’ll keep it at 5 stars lol this book was pretty brutal, the main characters just couldn’t catch a good break. Like all they had were scraps of vengeance here, & there but always ended up punished which took away some of the victory of vengeance for me, so that made it easier to put the book down for a bit lol I like books I can’t put down, but that had me annoyed lol and the ending really ticked me off, fmc knew how badly mab wanted her under her thumb, & could’ve at least made a better deal to secure protection for her mate & their situation, which ticked me off so bad, showed me how idiotic the fmc was. I mean, she is young but damn that annoyed me, no brains lol. She could’ve made a deal of the bond being broken if mab messed up with her being so impulsive & unhinged. This is definitely turning into a book that you want to finish, but probably will never want to read again lol I was glad to see mab made her go to Tardis at the end, finally get away from mab for a little bit, Jesus. So I’m interested in her adventure there & what she finds since it calls to her. Let’s hope the 4th book redeems itself from the parts that annoyed me with this one lol the 1st & 2nd book I loved, this one ticked me off lol

Devastating
The banter in this book is top notch. The brutality in this book also tops the previous two, but it’s balanced with heartbreaking scenes as well. I can’t wait for the fourth book to come out!

Hooked….and left wanting.
This series has kept me captivated throughout. I love the tenacity of the FMC, she has very much grown into her role….until she falls.Things that left me confused: some of the FMC’s choices don’t make sense with her character growth to me. But I am hopeful the reasons will be clear in the final book. I also don’t understand how some of the primary characters in the prior series are just overlooked, or barely mentioned when they were alluded to be important to the development of the story. For example, Fallon - there seemed to be a buildup to SOMETHING, and then it felt like it went flat. The question of who/what Estrella is never really gets answered and some of Mab’s reactions to events are glazed over or don’t fit her character at all. Dragging out the MCs bonding is frustrating, but I can see why with the way the story was written. It’s time though. It’s past time.Be warned: this is a cliffhanger, and one that is frustrating because it’s a WTF moment (and not a good one) with healthy fat dose of WHY with a dash of facepalm and a good fat ugh.I am very invested in the story line, and can’t want for the finale. The book and series is definitely worth reading. Also note, I’ve seen in different places the final book was supposed to have been out already and no updates on the status of that. If you dive into the series, while it is GOOD, please note as of this date you cannot finish it - but hopefully soon.

I want to know what’s next. It was a hard read
The first 2 books where more “readable” in this book the dialogs where drowned by description, so it was very hard to visualize the scenes

Loved it!
This book kept me guessing! We picked up pretty much right after the end of What Hunts Inside The Shadows, and my goodness, the action never stopped from there. Our FMC and MMC went through it in this one. I know they experienced adversity before, but nothing like what they faced in the world of the Fae.This installment was packed with information, with some seriously spicy scenes sprinkled in. We learned so much about the Fae world and their culture and hierarchy, and whole a lot of questions were answered. Some big ones, like what our FMC is, are only starting to be answered.I love the bond the FMC and MMC have, and I love the relationships she has with her friends, both old and new. I can not wait to see the conclusion to this series in What Sleeps Within the Cove.If you love :Epic world-buildingFated matesFae and GodsM/f with Touch them and d!e attitudesPowerful FMCs with supportive MMCs so are secure about the fact that they are not the most powerful ones in the relationshipThis one is for you!I received this arc for an honest review
