An Inspector Calls The Graphic Novel

Graphic version of the classic novel. I do love the images in these stories. They come together so well. It really adds to the story and the graphics are really well drawn.

Like so many others, my son is studying this for GCSE. He is very dyslexic, so I bought this as a gentle introduction to the story before he's confronted by the book in its entirety. These graphic novels are great for that; visual aids make the reading easier and bring the story to life. After all, this is a play not a novel, so it makes sense to have it summarised with dialogue. He read it fairly quickly and it seems to have helped him grasped the plot etc prior to embarking on the full text.

New to graphic novels but very impressed will be buying more

If you love manga style reading and love graphics this is a great alternative. The text is the same as in the original and it makes the play come to life visually.

I love the play and I guess this is the original text but I wasn't as gripped reading it as a comic as I thought I would be. Also while the artwork is fine, the material means the drawings are all just the same few people at different angles. It's still a good rest, just didn't inspire me to buy more in the series.

Excellent way to review the play. Bought it to help GCSE student - great illustrations and original text BUT there are no screen directions/descriptions (which GCSE students would be expected to reflect on and analyse).So good read but not enough for GCSE students

As a teacher, I have revisited this play many times and I bought this version to encourage some of my more reluctant students. I read it yesterday and was so impressed with the production values and the artwork - the play came to life again for me. The tiniest quibble, which does not detract from the five stars I've awarded, is that the speech writer "bolded" some words where he/she felt the emphasis should be, and this was occasionally off-putting. I've also bought Frankenstein and Romeo and Juliet in the same series and am looking forward to those now, and maybe others to follow. I remember, as a child, discovering Macbeth in a comic, as we called them, and being inspired to love Shakespeare.

I can't say enough good things about this book! What a great way to help students get to grips with the play. I am going to buy one of these for each new play or book I teach. The colours are good, the pictures are realistic and atmospheric and the quality is just great.Do be careful about whether you need to original text, quick text etc as they offer different variants of the original texts and I feel it would be easy to buy a quick text one by mistake. But the quick texts would be good for students who struggle, as an introduction.
