A quick and effective sharpener but one that will wear out relatively fast
I needed to sharpen several tools regularly during a gardening project (attempting to lay a hedge in the traditional manner using billhook and hand axe). This scythe stone is a practical shape for the curve blades and rapidly honed a good edge. For finer tools such as a knife or secateurs the grain would be too coarse in this, but for slashing/chopping implements I found it to be ideal and very good value.The main negatives are that it does wear down pretty fast (you can see the powder coming off it as you rub) and it seems like it could easily break if dropped. But using it frequently has made my work go much smoother and saved me a lot of wasted effort with blunt tools so I'd certainly recommend it.

Use it for sharpning small garden tools and does the job well for what I need it for. Just keep it dry and get lot of use from it.

Pour instruments tranchants à grande lame, en acier non trempé. La section circulaire permet d'éviter les accidents d'affutage dûs à un coup de pierre sur une arête abrasive, et de plus l'encrassement (et éventuellement l'usure) de l'abrasif peut être répartie uniformément en faisant tourner la pierre.

Works well
Bought this to sharpen scythes and bill hooks, grit is pretty course but does a nice job over all. Larger than I expected too.
