Some much carnage over what seemed like a simple job, that sums up the plot wonderfully has a job goes sideways and the Black River Irregulars expanded cast find themselves in unfamiliar territory with the fate of countries at stake...they definitley need to be paid more:) The character receive some wonderful development and secrets are revealed. Another wonderful story involving an interesting set of mercs!

Good Yarn
Typical of Mr Byers Black Crowns was a nice, entertaining adventure. I enjoy the byplay of the various Irregulars and their personalities.I do wish, however, that since Mr Byers decided to add a gunmage to the group that he at least read the accompanying information/novels/rpg rules and knew how the gunmage actually WORK in setting. It is kinda annoying to go against all established fluff when the rest is consistent.Minor annoyance, but annoyance none the less.

This is a great continuation for the Black River Irregulars and clearly sets up some future adventures for the intrepid mercenary company. Quite enjoyable and fun. Suggested for anyone who is a fan of the Iron Kingdoms or Warmachine.

Byers knocks it out of the park again!
Great followup of his first Black River Novel. This time the crew is re-visiting the scene of Canice previous life as a rebel in a neighboring state, and dealing with some obnoxious hellspawn as a result. Byer's writing style is solidly readable, but very evocative.
