YES TOCucumbers Soothing Calming Sheet Mask (1 Count)

This mask just burnt my face! Not a tingling like it said on the packet and my boyfriend had the same reaction! Just painful do not buy!

This is a one-use paper face mask that is supposed to soothe and calm your skin. It smells strongly of cucumbers.I found this face mask much more difficult to use than similar paper masks I've tried - the cut-out holes were much more difficult to position and the flaps under the eyes were really irritating, especially as it meant I had to get the mask the right way round. The cucumber scent was a bit too simple, as well - if I'm paying this price for a one use product, I would expect it to be a bit different from bog-standard face masks. The mask didn't irritate my skin, although there was a strong tingling sensation. However, I didn't feel that the mask really improved the look or feel of my skin.I wouldn't recommend this product and - although slightly more expensive - I'd suggest that the MaskerAide range is much better.

This mask quite surprised me. I had used the  Yes To Tomatoes Clear Skin Detoxifying Charcoal Paper Mask (1 Count)  which stung a bit, but that was almost expected given that it uses fruit enzymes (read acids) to work. This said soothing and calming and given that when eyes are sore, you put cucmber slices on and feel a soothing coolness, that was what I'd expected. YIKES! This felt as if I'd placed some icy hot type stuff on my face. No, really. You know that feeling you get from cool cough mints? Imagine that on your face. It tingles and burned. I had to take it off. My skin was actually quite red all over! On went the Sudocrem, which I had to use two days running. I was disappointed as I'd liked the other mask.

This is one of the new type of face masks, which are easier to use than the typical, cream type, and consist of a paper mask which you simply place over your face. As it is currently Sunday afternoon and, having some time to myself, I thought it would be a good time to try this out. Unfortunately, I could not really test this to the full.The mask itself came out of the packet very well hydrated indeed and lay, simply, across my face, with holes for eyes, mouth and nose. You are supposed to leave this on for ten minutes, but it began to feel more like a 'cold burn' than cooling and comfortable and so I had to remove it. My skin actually felt tender to the touch afterwards, so it was not a really nice experience and I do not feel I could recommend this.

The mask arrived promptly, was well packaged and fitted through the letter box. For your money you receive a single paper mask. On opening the pack you get a 'gel' covered mask that is folded. The smell from the mask was pleasant and reminiscent of cucumbers. I found putting the mask on reasonably ok - if is a slightly messy process, so be careful how and where you use it. Once in place, there was certainly a tingling from the face mask - I wouldn't describe it as unpleasant, but that will be down to different skin types. I would describe the results as refreshing, but not as 'comfortable' as I had hoped. Would I buy this again - probably not. Its ok.... and nothing more.

This mask was anything but calming.It smelled nicely of cucumber as I got it out but also quite minty as I started putting it on.It started burning straight away. This wasn’t just a tingling sensation, it actually hurt. Apparently the company says it is supposed to tingle a little, but I don’t think tingling should be a feature of a calming mask anyway.I removed it after about 30 seconds as it hurt too much, my face was bright red.I immediately rinsed my face, which helped, and swapped it for another face mask to try and cool my skin down. The face mask I used was anther cucumber one by Oh K! It is more expensive but I have found that one to always work well. It soothed my skin and did not sting at all, so I wasn’t just having a skin sensitivity problem that day, it was just the Yes to Cucumbers ‘calming’ face mask. I don’t recommend.

The first thing I noticed about this face mask is that it is a lot wetter than I was expecting, so the paper cut-out adheres to your face quite well. I was pleased that I wasn't immobilised for the time I was wearing it and could actually position it well.The mask has a pleasant, light fragrance and the gel on it absorbed well into my skin.The effects aren't in any way startling but my skin did feel refreshed and it was a nice addition to a 10 minute chill.
