Buy this, it's the best freaking heating pad you'll ever own.
First of all, I'll explain my pain history:I'm 33, female and significantly overweight. That being said, ever since I got my first job when I was 18, which was standing at a register, I've had back pain. I've learned to deal with it better, but it's pretty much always there. Fast forward to 2009 when I moved and started sleeping on a different mattress. No matter what I did, my back would hurt between my shoulders when I slept flat. This went to sleeping on the couch for about a year, and then finally going back to bed and sleeping on an incline, since it was the only position that didn't hurt between my shoulders. Later on, it would hurt my lower back sleeping in that position. Sleeping on my side still hurts after a while between my shoulders. Fast forward again to April 2016 when I began to lose weight. Of course losing the weight helped with my back, and I also became a runner. Running hurt my back and my hips, but, I figured it was just my posture as I ran, but it hurt to run upright, if that makes sense. Imagine running looking at your feet, it's like that. September of 2017 I, admittedly, was trying to do too much. I was cooking dinner, and exercising and decided I'd go on a quick run around the neighborhood while the chicken was cooking. I fell and broke my fifth metacarpal in my left hand, got road rash on my left knee and bumped my head on the concrete. Needless to say, I was out of running commission for quite a while. I haven't really ran since, and it's December of 2017 as I write this. That being said, I believe me going from exercising/running 3-5 times a week, to absolutely nothing and being a couch potato weakened my back muscles greatly. This all came to a head around October or so. I decided to bite the bullet and see a chiropractor. The first one never took x-rays and didn't ease my pain. The current chiropractor I'm seeing also does acupuncture and all natural remedies. After the first acupuncture experience, I seemed to get a pulled muscle in my back around my right rib cage area. It hurt to take deep breaths. Sounds simple, don't take deep breaths, but, I found if I take shallow breaths constantly, my body naturally wants me to take a deep breath every so often. Which would make my muscle tighten very hard and be very painful. The chiropractor suggested this heating pad for me, as it's a moist heating pad and not like the dry one I did have. Now that we're up to date, I had a horrible, no good, very bad day about a week ago where I awoke at 4am, lower back in horrible pain. Took some ibuprofen but it takes about an hour to work. I realized also upon waking up that from me using a very old heating pad on one spot on my back where the pulled muscle was, that I now had a burn mark there as well as a sore muscle. I had an appointment with my chiropractor that morning at 8am. I didn't get back to sleep until 6am and needless to say, I looked the part of being sleep deprived and in pain. As I was walking out the door, I noticed I got this in the mail. When I got off of work, I came home and laid on it on the couch and went to sleep. It has taken a few days, but I can say that this heating pad has been my main source of comfort in my back ache horror story as of late. It helps to really heal those muscles from the outside. So much so that I don't really need the heating pad until the middle of the night and in the mornings. I feel as I go on, I, hopefully, won't need it anymore except on the odd occasion I do have a pulled muscle.I recommend getting this heating pad, if anything, just to have it in case of emergency. People are right when they say that they keep an extra one just so they don't have to go without. In the manual/instructions it says not to lay on it. I do lay on it, and granted it's only been 5 days since I've owned the thing (yes, it's worked it's magic that fast) but, I can tell you right now, with my back issues, if I were to wake in the middle of the night in the kind of horrible pain I have had before, there is no way I could be able to lay on my stomach and pull this thing on my back. Plus, I can't sleep that way anyway. I leave it on my bed right under where my body lays and just hold the clicker in my hand all night so if I do awake in pain, I can kind of give myself heat blasts until the pain subsides. The clicker was a worry to begin with. But, as the manual says, it's a deep heat therapy and you shouldn't need this kind of heat on you for longer than 30 minutes. I can't even do a full minute, as it gets too hot for me, and I have to let it cool down. But it does heat fast and hot, and does it's job if you let it.This heating pad is not only going to help me, but also help my chiropractor do her job. I was so tense before this, that she couldn't pop my back for fear of injuring me further. Buy this, if you're going to buy ANY heating pad.

Hottest Heating Pad ever!! Nice and strong.
I have bought this heating pad a few times over the years because they are the best! Mine last about every 5 years because I’m very hard on them.I was worried because the handle looked different but I love it even more! The button is very smooth and easier to hold then their old style. It works by you holding down the button and then releasing once it’s as hot as you want. It gets so hot that it can’t stay in without holding the button. But that’s what makes it so great and lets it get so hot.

Good Product - Meaningless warranty coverage
I bought my thermophore eight months ago. I always took care of it, and thought of it as a valuable investment --in terms of money, but also because it is very useful in my medical care.It worked very well... at first. Then it started to warm less and less. Till one day, it warmed no more.I did not worry. The manual stated that the manufacturer stood behind their products and that they had a shop in US soil full of workers willing to fix their products for free if under warranty, or repair them for $30 if past warranty. My thermophore was well within its warranty period. I sent it well packed with a copy of my original receipt.I was then, in shock, when I received a form letter that informed that my warranty did not apply because my thermophore had been manufactured over three years ago. Yet at least as far as a consumer can tell, the date of manufacture is not written anywhere in the original box, its manual, or the device itself. And, if the device spent over three years in an Amazon warehouse, is that reason to declare a product ineligible for warranty coverage? Why was this requirement never documented anywhere in the manual, in the warranty text, or the website of the manufacturer? And what about that $30 offer to fix the thermophore? I was instead, offered to be charged $40 instead.Needless to say a disappointment! This company and its product might have at some point manufactured excellent products, but seems that the pernicious temptation to destroy customer loyalty by saving a few bucks has seeped in...This is a manufacturer in decline. Look elsewhere for a good heating pad.

Good size, and has removable cover.
My husband and I love these heating pads! They're larger and the heat feels so good on a tired back! The cover is soft, and removable for washing, in cold water, and lay out to dry.

Best heating pads ever!!
My aunt introduced me to this moist heating pad over twenty years ago, and I came home and bought one immediately. I had it for over 20 years until it died and we really used it almost daily. So I bought a new one recently and then decided to get another one, so my husband could have one of his own. They are wonderful because they get really hot to relax your muscles and reduce pain. There’s something about the moist heat that just works better than a normal heating pad. And they are large to cover more area, which I love! I bought one for my dad too. If you are on the fence, don’t be. Just buy these, you won’t be sorry.

Still no joy from the manufacturer
My wife uses this to ease tension in her lower back after a long day nursing. She describes the warmth as "moist heat" although there is no moisture involved; just the relaxing heat that equates with a soak in our whirlpool tub. I've tried it and it is indeed very comforting. The only downside is the short lifespan of the product. We're on our third unit now with each lasting approximately one year with regular use. We've contacted Amazon and the seller and both told us we were essentially out of luck as far as warranty replacement. You'd think a product of this nature would be a bit more resilient as it is marketed for frequent use. Besides, it is an electrical device and should be built more robustly for safety. Our second unit developed a hot-spot that began to discolor the fabric cover so we retired it fearing a serious burn to my wife or possibly a fire hazard. Still no joy from the manufacturer, seller, and/or Amazon. Otherwise, the Thermophore pad works very well until it doesn't.
