We're using this to grow dill and basil. The heat mat and lights work well. The mat plugs into an outlet, and the lights plug into a USB port. Be sure to support the plastic lid from underneath when installing the lights to prevent it from denting or cracking.

I have never had a green thumb, so I am always trying different ways to make my garden better. Seed starting has been challenging for me because I am not able to get them to consistently sprout and some of them will sprout but have weak stalks that die fast. This can help me to sprout faster and maintain the best environment for the plants to help provide the best chance to have a hearty stock. I really like that I don’t have to think about the lighting distance, the humidity level or the heating pad being too hot. This kit does all of that for me, and it not using a lot of power to do it. I can even sprout different seeds at the same time because there are seed tags. There are plenty of compartments so I don’t have to decide what plants I can fit to start this way.The issues I have are the plastic is not the strongest for the dome, so I am concerned with the durability after I remove and replace the lid several times. It snaps into place easily, but to remove the dome I have to pull on the edge a little, overtime this can cause it to split. The other concern is the seedling pods, they are grouped together so when I tip them over to get the seedling out, the pods next to it will tip as well. I have not had much luck with scooping them out one at a time, so I am not sure how to avoid this. The plastic for the pods is not super thick, so I am able to pinch the bottom to pop it out, but I don’t want to cause them to break down early. I don’t want to separate them and then they lose all of the stability from the adjoining pods because the individual pods will not stay up by themselves.Overall, I like the idea is great, the size is wonderful, but there are a couple of changes that would make this easier to use.

This kit contains everything one needs to successfully germinate seeds to start a garden. The mat keeps the temp where it needs to be and the dome has openings so that the humidity inside can also be adjusted. You wouldn't grow full plants in this (maybe you can for small things) but you should end up with healthy seedlings that you can transfer to their final growing spot. I really like that this is a one box and done type deal.

I love the set up. I wont know if this helps with the growth for a few months. But I am def excited to see how this sprouts off. Fallow up to come

I really like this setup as this kit includes a warming pad and led lights for the seed starter. The unit is made of plastic, but overall not bad for starting your own seed before the season begins.
