Hippos Go Berserk!

This has to be one of the sweetest baby books. The poem is lovely and Hippos Go Berserk is nicely illustrated. The book is well made with nice thick pages and will be able to withstand curious babies for many bedtimes to come.

This was a christmas present for my nearly 2 year old daughter. Had it at bedtime tonight for the first time. My husband was made to read it 9 times before she insisted taking it to bed with her! Very successful first outing I'd say!

Great little book for teaching numbers. My 2 year old has already started to recognise numbers thanks to reading this book to him over and over...and over...and over...😂

We were given this book for our son and have been reading it to him since he was about 6 months old. He likes it even though he is still a bit too young to appreciate the counting aspect, but the pictures are cleverly drawn and we enjoy building up to the party and then counting backwards as all the hippos head home. It is easy and fun to read and we like pointing out little things in the pictures that he might relate to ("There's a balloon" or "They're eating"). I love Sandra Boynton and recommend this one for great illustrations and fun with counting.

Fun to read, funto listen to, fun to count and to join in. One of those great books that the reader enjoys just as much as the kiddie. Recommended for 6 months plus, also makes a good gift for anyone you know with a large family or circle of friends. Terrifically amusing.

Bought this for my daughter - she's 13 months old and absolutely loves having this book read to her. The illustrations are wonderful, the story amusing (quite important for the sanity of the parent who has to read it over and over again - I have to admit, I now know it off by heart), and she especially likes the page where the hippos are partying away. I've also bought copies for friends' children, and they love it too - highly recommended.

Very deeply layered in terms of the variety of topics it can help children learn about, it is more than simply a counting book! Fun pictures and a very easily poetically spoken text (I read it to my nephew and though I often trip over my words, the writing flowed I such a way that I had no trouble).Great all round!
