Nice instrument but needs a little setup.
This banjitar is a beautifully finished instrument except, the fret ends are brutal. Fret ends are sharp enough to be felt when playing the instrument, and this makes the instrument feel cheap to me. I almost detuned it and packaged it for return. Then I played it for a couple hours and became hooked. I’ll deal with the shortcomings. I placed the bridge based upon the usual 12th fret measurements and intonation is near perfect. If the frets were finished it would be a 5 star review.

6 string banjo
Very easy to play for an instrument that's isn't real expensive. Seems to be good quality. Has a good sound. Was able to fine tune it in the 12 fret. Did replace the strings with a bigger string which made the tone better. Gave it a 4 star because it's not a real expensive instrument.

Missing several parts I paid for - what a disappointment
After waiting patiently for this instrument to arrive, it was rattling in the box upon its arrival. And it was missing the extra set of strings, the gig bag and also the bridge. All I received was the instrument as pictured and a truss rod which was rattling inside the box loose. I’d expect more considering it was a $400 dollar instrument. We will see how the Oscar Schmidt customer care line handles this unacceptable situation.
