Excellent value platform bike rack
This bike rack has a lot going for it, but it's not without its flawsPROS- Excellent value- Very sturdy, beefy build. My bikes always stayed secure, even when driving down some very bumpy jeep roads.- 2 bike extension can easily be removed if you only need to carry 2 bikes.- Comes with locks on the hooks to help secure the bikesCONS- Quality control doesn't seem to be the best. The first rack I bought went together great. However, I received a replacement through insurance after an accident, and the replacement was manufactured sloppily. Holes did not quite line up, and I had trouble assembling the rack and actuating some of the arms. In the end, we had to re-drill some of the holes so that the rack could be assembled properly.- This rack isn't the best for smaller bikes. My son's 20" bike could technically fit in the wheel trays, but there would be interference with his rear derailleur. It was also hard trying to fit very differently sized bikes onto the same rack. It was just trial and error, trying to find the window where the hook arms are able to clamp onto both bikes.- I've had the hook arms get stuck on me when they were pushed down too much. It's like the more force being applied to the hook arms, the more friction the ratcheting mechanism encounters, and the more likely it'll get stuck.Overall, if you mostly carry similarly sized bikes and want the option to carry 4, this is a solid, budget friendly option.

Best rack for the money out there
I read many reviews and looked closely at the pictures and none answered my question.. I wanted a rack that I could take the back section off and just haul two bikes. Decided to order this rack and modify it to come apart. I can weld and machine, BUT it wasn't necessary. This rack comes apart so that you can make it a 2 bike or a 4 bike. The tubing and material is heavy duty and if you put it together correctly, it has no rocking movement at all. The only negative is the assembly manual, it is lacking in several places. You must use 2 flat washers on the 5/16 bolts and other poor explanations. One big plus was the locking mechanisum on the hold down rachets. There is a pictue in the manual of these strange keys but no explanation until I saw the back of the release levers. I highly recommend this rack...

Bikrack
I purchased this as a gift for my daughter and her boyfriend. They are very happy with it and had no trouble assembling it. They have used it to transport their bikes and it is easy to secure.

Nothing to say at this time
I have not put it together yet but I opened the box and it looks awesome. Hopefully assembling it will be good.

had to return mine but it seemed to be of good quality other than one major problem
Seemed sturdy and well made and fairly easy to assembly, having only one or two bolts that were annoying to tighten, requiring large wrenches on both sides to tighten it. Unfortunately, ours came with a manufacturing defect. The Short Support Base Assembly has 3 pairs of quarter circle cuts in it to allow the horizontal arms and the vertical arm to be positioned either horizontally or vertically, which is important when you want to fold it up for storage or fold it against the vehicle while attached to the hitch but not carrying bikes. The rack is kind of a pain to connect and disconnect to the hitch because the bolt used to secure it to the hitch is VERY long (requiring you to screw and screw and screw to fully tighten it) and the rack itself is VERY heavy. So you do not want to have to be removing and reinstalling the rack on the hitch more times than are absolutely necessary. On ours, one of the pairs of quarter circle cuts were going in opposite directions, which meant that the vertical arm could not be folded down to the horizontal position, and the rack could not be folded up against the car for when there are no bikes on the rack. That was a deal breaker for us, so despite having fully assembled it before I realized the problem, I went to the trouble of fully disassembling it and putting it back into the box. We are currently awaiting a replacement unit, which hopefully will not have any similar manufacturing issues. I will check more carefully this time for that same issue before going to the trouble of fully assembling it. Will update after we get the replacement unit.Since we already had it assembled, we tested out the returned unit. We put 4 bikes on it and drove it to the trail. Putting the end bikes on is pretty easy. Putting on the first middle bike is also easy. Putting on the second middle bike can be a challenge. There is not quite enough space to easily fit another bike on once you already have a bike in one of the middle positions. I will have to look at the other reviews to see if there is some trick to getting the second middle bike on. I managed it, but it was inelegant. I had to take care not to tear at cables or damage spokes in the process.Edit: now we have used it forore than a year. My bike is too heavy (80 lbs.) The screws are all badly corroding. They went cheap on the screws.

For the price you cant beat this 4 bike rack
This is a pretty nice rack. Neededto upgrade from a 2 bike rack to 4, and this beat out the competition in price and features. It can be configured as 2 bike or 4 bike rack. It has locks built into the top tube arms.Is very adjustable to length of bikes. And keeps the bikes secured and separated from each other.Could not beat the price for this unit.

Flattened 2" receiver stabilizing pin - Fixed. Note Metric Bolts.
Paint is something to be desired. Appears to chip and some rough corners arrived missing paint. I don't expect this to remain rust free for long..But main issue is I can not screw in my 2" receiver hitch pin. Appears first threads flattered during manufacturing...... would appreciate manufacturer letting me know if a replacement can be sent. Currently not able to attach to vehicle.Other than above, a reasonable product so far.Update on 8/20/22 Company was very responsive helping me out with the issue posted above and after being able to attached to car, the carrier is solid.Item of note: the hardwired provided from the manufacture in Michigan is metric..... To make the installation of the bolt into the receiver hitch I needed to purchase a 24mm end wrench to make the bolt installation and removal process possible an opted for a ratcheting end wrench to make it even easier. This wrench is now permanently part of my bike carrier tools.
