RV Awning
After getting an estimate from a local RV dealer to have a slide out awning installed on my Jayco travel trailer, I decided to do the install myself. I viewed a number of you tube videos (most helpful was the video posted on the etrailer.com web site) and ordered the Solera awning from Amazon. The order was fulfilled by RV and Auto Parts. They contacted me prior to shipment to arrange delivery, they were very professional. The freight company contacted me to arrange delivery, as their tractor trailer could not travel in my residential neighborhood - no outlet. I met the driver at a local business and transported the undamaged shipping tube home. The awing WAS shipped with the awning rail. I purchased a roll of Dicor butyl tape to seal all hardware attachments. I was able to install the end brackets and awning rail by myself, (about 30 minutes) they literally "stuck" to the side of the trailer and slide out using the butyl tape, I used a cordless drill with the proper bit attachment, to quickly and easily drive the included screws. Following the included instructions, I had a buddy of mine climb on the roof of the RV and guide the corded end of the fabric into the awning rail while I held the "tube" while standing on a ladder. We slid the assembly the length of the awning rail, secured the brackets, pulled the pins, ran the room in and out a couple of times, (another 20 minutes) then took time out for an adult beverage. I am very pleased with the Lippert Solera Awning. It shipped "complete", and is the same awning that would have been installed on my RV had I ordered my RV with a factory installed awning option. At the end of the day, I saved a bundle doing it myself, it was not difficult, and will save me from having to clean the debris from the top of my slide out after every camping trip.

Mount more than 3" above slideout
The installation for this topper was straightforward - take your time. Some major points are noted with a *- buy some 3/4" butyl tape to seal all the holes you are going to make in the side of the trailer* mount the rail on the trailer side 6" above the top of the slideout NOT 3" as the installation guide says.- make a line on the side of the trailer with the ends of the rail marked and centered.- apply the butyl tape to the supports to go on the slideout and install the supports. The butyl should squeeze out slightly.* mount the holders in the lowest mounting rails, NOT THE HIGHEST if you have clearance - I have 1" of clearance between the slideout upper edge and the awning doing this.- apply the butyl tape, leaving the release liner on one side to the railing.- get at least one helper and at least two step ladders.- align the railing to the line you drew 6" above the top of the slideout flange and starting at one end, press the butyl tape and the railing into place. You only get one shot at this so one person holds the railing off the side of the trailer, the other presses the railing with butyl tape down.- drive the screws into the side of the trailer thrug the railing GENTLY - very easy to strip out the screw holes.- spray silicone into the channel* helper holds up the awning and slide the bead on the awning into the slot. With silicone it should slide easily.- extend and retract the slideout a couple times, then pull on the edges of the awning and drive the screws through the railing on the side of the trailer and the awning bead so it doesn't shift.- add the lockscrews to the mounting plates on the slideoutI did not give this 5 stars because on my 13' topper, which only extends 18" the awning is not taut in the center and collects water This was caused by the 3" mounting height above the slideout that was recommended (if you call Solera the recommendation is 3" to 6" with a 3" MINIMUM). Which is different than what the installation guide says. You can tighten the awning once it is installed by reinstalling the locking pins, releasing one end at a time and giving the awning bracket a revolution or two to make it tighter.I like the awing but the instructions, also on YouTube for 3" above the slideout top will cause water to pool on top of the awning much less snow.

Easy to follow directions were also included
Bought this for my Sprinter Travel Trailer. I noticed that some reviews said it did not come with the awning rail. Mine arrived by truck, well before the anticipated delivery date and very well packed in heavy round cardboard tubes. When I unpacked it, I found it contained everything I needed for installation except the butyl tape, which I was not expecting anyway. It came with the awning rails, all hardware, and screws for the complete installation. Easy to follow directions were also included. VERY PLEASED with this purchase. Oh, BTW, just for comparison, I checked the price against what my local RV supply dealer could give me and when I told him what they were selling for on Amazon, he told me there was no way he could touch the price and told me to just order them on Amazon.

Slide Topper covers all
I installed on Dec 5th 2018. Very simple, look at the pics. So with the slide all the way in, just install the slide rail to the side of the trailer right at 2 inches and you will be good to go. Or google slide topper installation and look at etrailer installation video to build more confidence to do yourself. Very happy with this produst to protect my slide from rain, leaves, pine needles, and debris. Dont have to worry about trash getting inside my trailer when I roll the slide in after camping. A must have. 5 Stars easy!

Damaged from factory. Need better quality control personnel.
I was so stoked to get this awning installed so camping season could begin, until i extended the slide out and realized there were holes in the awning when unrolled the first time. I installed it exactly as the instructions stated. I left it in its rolled state until mounted and aligned. There is no way these holes could have happened anyplace else other than the factory because they were away from the edge, in the middle of the awning with no damage to the our package. Since there is no contact seller button, please reply or email me to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Arm bent at one end when removed from package and slide in brackets do not work.
The arm was bent at one end of the awning roller and the shipping tube was not damaged during shipment so it must have been bent by the manufacturer before placing it in the shipping tube. Outer bracket can not slide into the inner bracket because the windows on my slide out are too close (poor design). I had to drill out the outer brackets and screw them directly to the slide out without using the inner brackets. The screws provided for fastening the brackets to the slide out are also too small and short. The manufacturer need to improve design and take serious look at their poor quality control!

Happy Camper!
I bought this unit for our new motorhome, for use on the rear "bedroom" slide out. The first camping trip we took with our new unit had a few rainy nights. The sound of rain hitting the roof of the slide out kept waking me up, very annoying. I went back to the dealer and priced a unit installed, and fell over >$1000. I'm handy so found this unit online. It came quickly, in great shipping tube, well protected. Instructions were good, and a few hours later it was on. We have now used it for several months, no issue and it is standing up well. It keeps the rain, leaves, twigs etc off the roof of the slide out, and I don't hear the rain hitting it. I'm totally pleased, and would buy it again. I don't know how long the Tarp portion will last but I intend to clean it and give it a treatment this coming spring.

Installs easily!
I installed this pull out awning easily with some help to do the final part. The awning is a good size and the return spring is just right. This came with all the hardware ,brackets and the track which installs on the RV for the awning material to slide into. The only thing needed to install was a drill and a couple of bits !

So far so good
Fit is perfect for my 2012 ORV Creekside 23RKS and will provide added protection from the elements and tree debris. I installed it solo with a good ladder, and used butyl tape behind the strip, with the screws exposed under the awning. On the slide brackets I also used butyl tape, as well as silicone along the top and side edges for extra protection. I do wonder about any potential for wind damage while travelling down the road, as about 5" of the fabric is exposed. I'll be checking for any fraying of the fabric but hopefully it should be fine.It arrived with some minor damage (a few scrapes and the flat strip was bent, also two missing screws) but I was able to touch it up and find two extra screws and paint them white. A discount for the damage would be nice...as it's kind of a challenging item to return and exchange. Comes in a big cardboard tube - the one end was not secured well and the awing had slid out during shipping.
