Was able to make the mold several times to ensure it was right, very forgiving. Be sure to keep it on the square so it will fit the picture frame. You can trim it with a very sharp knife if it's too big. Would get this again.

This is a great keepsake kit that will hold a picture and a clay print of your dog/cat paw or baby hand or foot. The picture insert size is 3.5 inches x 5 inches. Unlike the advertized picture, the amount of clay that is provided does not fit the whole shadow box. However, it was still enough to get a paw print of my dog and to imprint my dog's name and year I did the paw print. There are some instructions but not enough direction. My suggested instructon:1) Using the provided plastic yellow letter & number and the blue stand. Set up whatever words & numbers which you want to imprint on the clay, Remember to put the lettering and numbers in reverse order; 2) after kneading the clay I would put it in the shadow box from the picture from. Then I would take the acrylic (keeping the protective film on the acrylic) and squish the clay down so that it's flush with the shadow box. If you want to attempt to fill the shadow box with the clay so that it looks like the advertised picture, you can. However, there may not be enough clay to press against to make the dog/cat/baby's imprint. if you make a mistake you can always knead the clay again and try again.; 3) Press the paw/baby's hand or feet into the cray to make the impression. 4) Imprint on the clay whatever words and numbers you want. 5) Let clay dry (possibily 48 hrs.); 6) peel off the protective film on the acrylic and put back in the frame.; 6) Put the shadow box back in the frame. 7) On the picture side, take the protective film off the acrylic and put back in the frame. 8) Put your 3.5" x 5" picture in the frame.

You either have to roll the clay really thin- which impacts the impression, or it ends up not filling up the tray. We do clay work so we had a roller, but like others mentioned this would be a good addition. This is perfect for preserving for a lifetime. My son actually wanted this to do with our old dog. He really liked that it had 2 parts to the frame so you could have the paw print and a picture.
