locking extension upgrade
I love these 3/8" drive impact locking extensions. I won't lose a socket at a tight spot ever again. I bought these as an upgrade from the Sunex version but I lost the 6" extension.

Simply great
Its a little on the pricey side but if you want a great solid product, I would recommend it. As long as it's being fully engaged / disengaged it will keep your socket on there remarkably. Don't let people (idiots) slam on or best off your sockets or it will damage it.

Best I've ever had
Great quality. Look great. Work even better! Not bulky, great for taking out spark plugs

Sloppy fitment
Unfortunately, I also found these extensions to have oversized female square ends, making them easily fall off any tool — doesn’t even matter if it’s hog ring or ball detent. I measured them at 0.010” larger square than any of my other extensions, making them very annoying to use. I also emailed Proto to see if this is a defect and never got a response. Super bummed about a USA made product having poor dimensionality and poor customer service.

Poor fit to impact
The media could not be loaded. As one of the other reviews stated, these extensions fall off your impact if it's facing downwards. I tested this on a brand new Milwaukee impact. The tolerances on the female end are just not right. I have one of these extensions I bought several years back and it fits great on the impact. I would not recommend these extension. They used to be good, but seem to have poor quality control now.

Snap On sells these but they aren't that good
I am a professional automotive service technician using these extensions daily. After having several sets of Gear Wrench extensions break, I went to Snap On. I found the Snap On extensions to be too loose (will fall off if the impact gun is tilted downward) on a 3/8" anvil, even with a brand new friction ring. This same problem occurs with my Snap On pneumatic and my Ingersoll lithium impact guns. Surprise surprise when I got this set - these are the extensions Snap On rebrands for the truck. The male end is equally as sloppy with the socket fitment, although the ball lock will retain the socket. Going back to Gear Wrench, despite their short service life.

Quality made in the USA
Nice to see that Proto is still making their tools in the USA.

Loose
Cheap for locking extensions. Paid roughly $80aud. Extremely loose on my Milwaukee stubby friction ring impact. Don't have this issue with my other proto deep impact sockets.Disappointing that theyre so loose and easily fall off the impact wrench.
