Does this help protect your hair while blow drying?

Our grooming spray has two different uses. It is primarily used by barbers/stylists as a primer before applying pomade. Someone like myself can spray a good amount in my hair prior to blow-drying to thicken/texturize the hair and give it a weightless hold. I can then apply pomade to give it better control and easier shaping. Some people will also use this as a stand-alone product if they do not want to apply the product in their hair or are looking for a spray to lock in the style they have with their pomade for the remainder of their day.

Can I use this instead of gel or pomade?

It doesn’t have the holding power of a gel. I do use it to style my hair. when it dries it will keep your hair in place. I then use a little hair spray

What's the right way to use the spray, before or after you style your hair with the pomade?

My barber (then myself) sprayed it on towel dry hair and then blow dried to style it with a vented brush. I used a little matte cream after. It does well on its own if you want the dry look. Not sure about pomade.

Does nothing for me

The product smells nice but I have given up and stopped using it, it has no noticeable impact on my hair, certainly doesn't make it appear thicker.

This stuff is nice smelling water in a bottle.

This product does nothing, very disappointed as this is such a great brand, when this dries it dries like water and has no effect on your hair no hold at all. I will continue to use fudge salt spray this is better I'm sure there are better out there too

Great replacement for Vaughn V76 Hair Tonic!

If you are like me and desperate to find a suitable replacement for the apparently discontinued Vaughn V76 Hair Tonic, Layrite Grooming Spray is VERY good next best option! It has a similar light hold, pleasant smell, and no noticeable residue, unlike Reuzel Surf Tonic, a commonly recommended substitute for V76.
