Hylite 1ft Eco Tube Heater (45W)

This heater is not intended to warm a large room, instead it is supposed to provide some residual heat in a small enclosed area. I've been using this in a fermenting chamber for home brew (in conjunction with a thermostatic controller), to keep everything a stable temperature. In a small insulated box about the size of a fridge it did a good job of maintaining a stable 21 degrees in a garage where the outside temperature drops down to just above freezing. Do not expect however a 1ft tube heater to be able to warm a room, it is not going to do that. For small, contained applications, it works fine.Be aware that this item does not come with a plug so you need to be able to wire one yourself.

Great bit of kit - we have an outside utility room in our old garage and this sits behind the washing machine and keeps it warm should the temperature drop. It is seriously waterproof so I also used it to defrost our freezer recently by taking everything out and putting this inside. Honestly the easiest freezer defrost in 20 years - I know it's an unintended use, but now I've worked it out I'll never go back!BTW - this is my own personal use, DO NOT follow my example unless you know what you are doing - the cable that comes with it is not particularly long and I had to make sure that the extension cable didn't get wet - I wouldn't want anyone to get electrocuted because they made a simple mistake.

It does what it claims, but doesn't give off much heat. I used it to try and keep my aviary shed (4ft square by 6ft high) above freezing when minus 3 outside. Water - about 2ft away - still froze overnight. I used an old style 40 watt bulb instead (i used a red fire glow - 'other types are available' as they say). Worked a treat. Canaries all fine, by the way, in case you were worried.

This is a great little heater, we bought it for a Guinea Pig heater and its doing a great job. My only criticism is the lack of a thermostat that can be set however you can grab an ink bird thermostat elsewhere on amazon which compliments it well.It doesnt kick out the greatest amount of heat however considering it is running at 35 watts at the wall (not 45 as advertised) its actually surprisingly warm and its doing just fine keeping a 2m cubed space above 15 degrees thats not very well insulated and ambient is at below 10 outside.My plan is to stick in 2 of them for winter to keep my piggies warm and I believe it will do just fine. The only thing I would state outright is that it does not come with a guard and it definitely needs one, you can buy them separately or just use some mesh and form a half pipe larger than the heater to create a guard from direct contact as surprisingy enough for a 35 watt heater it actually does heat up a lot !

Arrived on time - well packaged and easy to fit. One reviewer had stated that it came with a plug - not the case. The cable is only 1m long but I'll be fitting an in-line switch so I can easily extend it. Have it on a section of a bay window that tends to get damp and it's doing a great job.

Looks very nice and feels solid, well packed and delivered earlier than expected. However, mine did not produce any heat whatsoever. When switched on a very slight vibration could be felt if touched lightly but even after an hour there was no sign of heat at all.

So good 2 of my friends have bought one because mine looked good. Not only does it keep the rain off the small size actually is not knocked off by our weather!
