Incredible book!
I originally pulled this book while I was at the library, but realized how incredible it was, that I had to make it a permanent fixture in my home! I love the way that a variety of cultures are introduced and threaded throughout the book. There are a variety of topics (what homes look like, what happens when people are sick, celebrations, etc.) that show how people from different cultures participate in that event or how their cultures impact the different categories. I love how there are also simple sayings with not just the spelling in the language but ALSO how to pronounce each saying. It is SO helpful to try and pronounce the words so my child can hear it rather than me either 1) pronouncing it entirely incorrectly or 2) just not attempting at all out of fear of not doing the language justice! This is going to be an easy "go-to" book to talk about throughout different times of the year and different routines and show my children how their classmates may see things differently or do things differently than we do at home and that it's part of their culture and deserves respect too.
