Great frame, looks great, and I didn't have to make it!!
This thing looks great. Note, you will have to setup and add your own Raspberry pi, but is easy because there is mounting hardware and all the different cables for all the different versions of pi.There is plenty of foam/bubble wrap to ensure the mirror/screen stays intact, the internals of the mirror is a different story. When I got my mirror, the standoffs and screws for mounting your pi was scattered around the inside of the mirror and in the packaging. The board that controls the screen was free-floating in the back of the monitor. I pulled the entire back off, there is a door, but I needed to see everything, and I found the control board was glued on. I used some strong tape and taped it in place. I also found all the screws that had rattled off during shipping and got them put in place. They would be better off putting all the stand offs and screws in a ziplock, and having the end user put them on.The included wall anchors and screws were a bit strange in that you need two screws to mount the mirror, and they provided two screws, but they were different screws, one a hex head the other a Phillips. Fixing the free-floating screws unstuck board would make this a 5-star product.

Solid product with lackluster packaging
The mirror itself is a solid product. It looks great, and assuming all the wires are connected, it is very straightforward to operate. The packaging is a different story. While there is plenty of foam/bubble wrap to ensure the mirror/screen stays intact, the internals of the mirror appear to be completely unsupported. As a result, when my mirror arrived, the standoffs and screws for mounting your motherboard of choice were scattered around the inside of the mirror and in the packaging. The breakout board was free-floating in the back of the monitor, and the cables for the monitor's backlight were disconnected. I don't know if this happened during shipping or if they were never connected in the first place, but it was rather difficult to figure out why the monitor wasn't turning on until I unscrewed the entire backing. That's when I also discovered the rest of the motherboard mounting hardware embedded in various nooks and crannies.Once the packaging issues were resolved, the rest of the process was very easy. The included wall anchors and screws made it very easy to hang the mirror, and the mount feels very secure. Fixing the free-floating screws and breakout board would definitely make this a 5-star product.

very portable project mirror / display
This mIrror / display really has been designed in a way to take your project to the next level. The mounting for vertical or horizontal viewing is a great start for easy access to put up or take down the display for updates as needed. This also is great as different projects layouts could be supported. Additionally, the wooden backboard is vented and flips open for easy access to the display board , and your PI board or anything else you would like to hold in there (portable drive).I found that the display itself has great resolution when set to highest brightness The resolution at 1080P was clear so the entire real estate is usable for the projects I have in mind for it. And I dont have to worry about the mirror portion obscuring the display. With the power already being supplied by the mirror, I found that this really had everything I needed to make some cool projects. Also being a project board, If I need to upgrade any components in the future, I feel that its designed in such a great way to take the hassle out of restarting a new project from scratch.Overall , this is great for the very beginner as well as those that just want to get to the core of the project. I feel its a quality product with quality design and functionality to get anyone started.

Gamble on safe shipping
The foam used is the type that can maybe take one shock and then is useless. My unit came in with several pieces of mounting hardware disconnected and the control boards only secured by their connections. Lucked out and it still worked out of the box but I have to figure out how to re-mount the control board and buttons.Doesn't have to be a Raspberry pi in use either. Can be anything that outputs HDMI. I'm setting up an old laptop to project a 3d personal assistant thing. In summation. Works, but be prepared for a potential return cycle and maybe some reassembly without an instruction manual.

DO NOT BUY THIS SERIOUSLY!!!
Fist this is probably one of the worst things Ive bought on here. The first one I got i thought it was broken the second one was exactly the same. After doing research on how to use this mirror for months I’ve found nothing there’s no description on how to even set it up here or in the box it came with. The only thing you can do is cast your phone to it but there is no sound at all and the display is very small… Pls don’t waste your money on this!!!!!!

Great mirror for raspberry pi smart mirror projects
This is a perfect mirror for any type of smart mirror project. It makes the process so much easier, as the hardest part of those projects was building the 2way mirror case to accommodate the pi and screen. This saved us so much time, and allowed us to focus on the digital/tech parts of the project instead of the carpentry. This made the project more interesting and fun for the kids.No complaints so far!

Very shoddy packaging
Had to disassemble entire unit to reconnect monitor cables in housing that were not properly connected.
