SheaMoisture Raw Shea Butter & Cupuacu silicone and sulphate free shampoo Frizz Defense Shampoo for thick, wavy hair 379 ml

Firstly let me start off by saying this product is specifically formulated for wavy hair, if you’re a curly (type 3 or 4) this product will most likely not work for you. I have type 2B/C hair and have recently converted to the curly girl method but have found it hard to find products that comply with guidelines but that work for wavys like myself. The only problematic ingredient is glycerin which isn’t great for humidty, but as it’s currently winter this isn’t a pressing issue and I haven’t seen any negative effects so far. In fact it’s been fantastic! Firstly the smell is divine and your hair will smell lovely all day. Secondly this shampoo cleanses my hair very well without stripping it. Thirdly it works well with my problematic and oily scalp, I have cowashed in between uses but just to feel a bit freshen up because my hair hasn’t been oily at all. It also doesn’t give me dandruff which is a plus.

I've been using this shampoo for a few months now, to give it a fair shot, and it's definitely the best for my hair. I started the curly girl method with this shampoo and initially didn't like it, so I switched to a few different products from the Shea Moisture brand, but eventually landed back on this one and decided to give it another go.Now, I think it really does help my hair. When I use this shampoo, my curls are much more defined and easier to manage. I'm still not all the way there with my curly hair journey, but I can assure you it is SO much better than it used to be (the attached pictures show the difference in my curls when I do and don't use this shampoo). The only downside is how runny it is, which means you end up using quite a bit and that's not great when it's so expensive, but I make sure I budget for it because it's so useful.

If you oil your scalp first it won't foam up, but as I double shampoo the second wash is immaculate. It cleans my hair, tames my frizz, so it's pretty good

This shampoo is horrendous I’ve tried it three times and each time my hair immediately mattes and my hands grind to a stop, what on earth is in it, bought it for its lack of chemicals but my hair ends up like a haystack it’s only fit for cleaning the basin/ toilet not my hair

Having curly hair = frizz no matter what you use. However, this shampoo does help to control and minimise resulting in better curl definition when using other products to create final look.
