Weller SP23L Marksman Lighted Soldering Iron, One Color, talla unica

I bought one of these Weller lighted soldering iron and I like it very much. They works well but the LED lighting helps me see what I am doing in tight spot where the normal light would not reach. However, they added the LED lights into the handle so it is a bit weird to hold it unlike the old soldering iron I had from Radio Shack. I guess in time I will get used to the shape of this soldering iron but so far it performs as it should

During the first use, I noticed a strange smell (not the soldering smell), and saw a dripping down the shaft of the iron, towards my work. The casing over the lights had melted (!) and was sliding down the hot iron. The Seller acknowledged that this product had been recalled, but did not know all the places who still had stock. They would not offer a refund. I bounced back and forth between Amazon (who said it was the Seller's problem) and the Seller, who wouldn't refund. Ugh!

I purchased the soldering iron because I needed to do some work on my trucks instrument panel. The soldering iron scared my truck into submission. My instrument panel started to act right and work correctly. Still, it will always be a welcome member in my tool box.

mine came as a small kit with different tips, the solder tip for electronic type stuff doesnt heat up as good as the other tips, idk why, but i would get another iron. owned it for maybe 8 months, and rarely used it.

Good Iron. For heaver applications I would suggest the 40 watt iron.
