Lékué 250 ml Microwave Omelette Maker, Red

This omelette maker is fantastic, it came with instructions on how to make different omelettes with different ingredients and it works perfectly for me as I have a 700 watt microwave oven with 700 watt instructions. I bought this because I have no conventional oven but fancied omelettes and this performs so well it has transformed my eating pallet. Don't be put off by the price though, it does exactly what it says on the tin with ease and can be used by dummies, in my opinion.

Good silicone mould but a bit soft and wiggly in your hands. Split an omelet when I took it out. Now I just handle it super slow and careful.

It "works" exactly as described. I wonder if I may add one slight alteration to the cooking method? Where it is placed on the microwave turntable, e.g. not far enough to the centre, the bottom of the middle part of the omelette may not thoroughly cook. I now "stir" after the first 1 minute, this has the effect of fluffing the omelette up & ensuring cooked through. BTW I also stir-up the two eggs whilst in the item, saves washing-up! It's non-stick.

Works has stated and not with too much fuss.

Does this work? Yes, it does. Making an omelette is a simple affair. Crack a couple of eggs into a jug, whisk them together as per normal, and then pour in the maker. Pop it into the microwave, run it for a few seconds, then flip it over with the red tab, microwave again and enjoy. I certainly found it to be very easy to use. I did intially have a problem with some of the egg leaking out the hinge but the manufacturer - who actually replied unlike some sellers - explained I might need to adjust the cooking times which I did. Hey presto, problem solved. So why do I think this merits three out of five stars? Because the omelettes look awful. I'm far from a food snob - I'd rather have larger portions than tiny well presented portions - but everyone who saw this agreed. One even compared the look of the omelette to a shammy cloth. Even with plenty of vegetables added to the mix, the omlettes I created with this had a very dry and unappetizing look. If you're just looking to use this for a quick tasty snack for yourself, then by all means go ahead. But if you're looking to serve this up to someone else, I'd recommend you stick with a frying pan.

I've just made my first omelette in this and am really impressed. I live in a tiny bungalow and don't have much storage space so wanted something that didn't take up much room. This fit the bill. I've tried other microwave omelette makers in the past, with disastrous results, but the good reviews spurred me on to get this one, and I'm so glad I did. I was a little doubtful because of the price but thought, "Oh, it's from Amazon, I can always send it back if it's no good". I made a two-egg Spanish omelette in under five minutes. I used buttery Fry Light instead of butter or oil and water instead of milk when beating the eggs, cooked the peas and sweetcorn for one minute, added the beaten, seasoned egg, cooked it for two minutes, flipped it over and cooked for a further 30 seconds. The result was a lovely, puffy, well-cooked omelette. Next time I may cook it for a a little less time as I like mine slightly runny. A brilliant gadget for anyone living on their own, from student to pensioner. Yes, as a few have commented the result is pale - but the taste is superb and it's a decent size! I thoroughly recommend this product.

Having recently bought a sage combi microwave air fryer and knowing with lockdown I’d be cook more at home, I’ve been upgrading my microwave cooking tools. The Spanish Omelette Mould is one of my selections. A Frittata is both easy to make and a good way to use leftovers. The Spanish Omelette Mould made an excellent Frittata, my new microwaves Power is 1100 W a lot more powerful than the 800 W recommend in the Lékué recipe I used 80% power it may have taken longer but overall a good product. The only downside as with any microwaved egg dishes is there’s no colour at all. I think I’ll plate and grill the next one just to make it look better. I didn’t give any ⭐️ for flavour as I don’t eat silicone. And the concept of garbage in garbage out very much applies, not what you’re cooking it in.

This is a superb piece of instrument in the kitchen. So easy to make soft, fluffy and good looking omelettes .. add other ingredients as you wish.. two minutes in the microwave , then flip it and microwave for another 30 seconds.. that's all .. I am so glad to have this.

Its a great lekua product - suggest adding diced onions, cherry tomatoes and herbs to the egg misture. And remember a small dash of olive oil. Its a very handy product and will make a small quiche type meal if you can innovate the items. A great addition to my lekua collection of microwave utensuls.
