This product works whereas the shorter plastic versions are limited in their effectiveness. The plastic version allow birds to land with their legs in between the spikes - this metal version does not. The spikes are close enough together and long enough to be 100% effective. The base is easily bent to enable the spikes to be shaped around the corners of eaves etc., providing versatility. The product arrives in an envelope with several short lengths ready to be fitted together prior to use. Easy to assemble and a wonderfully environmentally thought through design to cost less in transportation as flat packed. The advert is very clear that it needs assembly but for some reason l hadn’t read that bit. I needn’t have feared as so easy to put together. There are no screws provided which was a pity as it would cost literally pence to throw in a few screws. Ours is going on a wooden pea frame to keep the pigeons from pooping over my veg. If you needed it to go around a pipe or chimney or something curved the base is lovely and flexible and would do the job a treat. We know they will work as a similar product keeps the pigeons off another veg frame. I am trying to persuade hubby to cover the top of our fences with spikes as one neighbour feeds the seagulls and pigeons daily and l am heartily sick of poop and courting large birds. Why do some elderly lose all common sense and insist on feeding vermin? (Including rats that now inhabit the general area!!!!)

Good product, easy to assemble and easy to adhere to surface needed. Definately recommend it.

Wasn't sure about these but after install I am very happy, The bottom support system is a bit flimsy but I installed on a piece of aluminium strip and these definitely keeps the pigeons away.

These anti bird spikes were delivered on time. They come ready to assemble in an envelope for ease of delivery. Mine had five short sections with exactly the right number of spikes. Assembly is very easy; just poking the wires through the appropriate holes! They are stainless steel, so maintenance free once installed.My house is gothic style and the roof has a small pediment feature with a rail across below it, which is where the birds sat and messed on the windows below. As part of the rail goes behind the pediment frame angle, I needed to cut some of the spikes, using decent pliers. I used two sections of spikes at each side of the rail, needing to cut a bit off which I did with tin snips although a hacksaw would also be suitable. I put a line of silicone sealant on the back before screwing the sections on simply because I was limited in the number of screws I could put in due to the roof angle at each side. I used stainless steel screws.These spikes will prevent the bird mess on my windows and last for a long time so I would definitely recommend them.

Today I fixed 1 length on top of a gate to stop our cat from getting onto the flat roof which it seems to think is a toilet! However Later I noticed said cat had got onto the roof, probably by making a big leap over the top of the row of spikes. She jumped down ONTO the spikes and then jumped off the gate. She seems to be uninjured after this! I will order another pack to extend the length covered. Hoping this works. Fixing was very easy using screws and assemble from flat very rapid.

I expected a larger package and was a bit apprehensive when a small padded envelope arrived.I had ordered 1 Metre of spikes and what arrived were 5 bases each 200 mm long and a packet of sprung metal v shapes spikes.You had to assemble each one yourself which my wife and myself found quite therapeutic, my 12 year old granddaughter also enjoyed making one or two up.

The product is well made, easy to assemble but Does Not Work!!! The birds started building their nest 3 days after installation in and on the spikes. Good idea, Doesn't Work!!

We had two pigeons nesting on our balcony. At first I wasn’t too bothered, but it soon became lots of pigeons and a disgusting mess on the balcony. I cleaned it up, put these spikes on the balcony and taught my dog to bark when they settled. The pigeons have moved away.
