Refined coconut oil works great for maintaining a cutting board. Refined coconut oil doesn't go rancid like virgin oil does. It also has a higher smoking point than virgin oil and is virtually tasteless, so it's good for cooking. Those complaining about it being refined oil were not paying attention to the description of the product.The jar was very well protected and arrived in perfect condition - no leakage, but I had ordered it in chilly weather when it is a solid as opposed to a liquid.
