McAlpine ST90CPB-S-HP2 CP Brass Grid Flange 90mm High Flow Shower Trap Waste

I am glad I picked this trap as the one that came with the shower is nowhere near as good! This one is easy to clean and catches a lot! Also it feels much sturdier than the one that came with the shower - and they charged a similar price for it!

As other people have said, high quality item. Can't believe it's the same price as the standard version. The grating is machined metal, and feels quite heavy, compared to the standard version which is just a chrome plastic top. Looks great too, and easy to install

Always use McAlpine products because they are well made, fit together nicely, have colour-coding (i.e. 40mm have red inserts / 32mm have blue inserts) and feel solid.This was to replace a cheap 'free with purchase' 90mm shower trap that came with the tray. When held up to the sun, you could see through the 'free' product. The McAlpine one has much thicker and more durable plastic.Once fitted it looks good and the metal grating is smooth, level and well made/solid.There have been no flow problems with the trap that copes well with a power shower and has been used for a few months so far.

I had purchased a waste with my shower tray from the manufacturer and when it arrived it looked like absolutely awful quality (thin, flimsy plastic with a plastic chromed cover). So I thought i would go ahead and buy one of these to see if it might be an improvement before doing the installation (especially since the waste will be a nightmare to replace once the show is installed). It turns out that this is a dramatic improvement. It is a heavy, solid, quality item that I felt far more confident in as I cemented the tray into place. It was also far easier to connect given how much better the metal threads works compared to the plastic ones on the first waste I bought. The flat metal grate is also far nicer than what I see on others. This has convinced me to look for more McAlpine products as I do more projects, even if they are far more expensive than some other options!

Great quality product. Don't bother messing about with the cheap plastic shower traps that are available, get this one. You won't regret it. Simple to fit, and seals perfectly first time.

I’ve bought a couple of these now. This one was to replace a modern mushroom/dome trap which has to be taken apart and de-clogged (of my wife’s hair) every six weeks or so. Total hassle. This is easy to fit, forms a good seal with ease, and feels like very good quality. We put a simple OXO hair trap over it and now never have to clear the drains ever. Very good product, feels solid and really well-made.
