Q: will it scratch my wood floor? I'm looking for something to put under chair legs to prevent scratching

First, these have to be nailed into the legs of the furniture so all existing metal or plastic feet have to be removed and the legs solid. My wife wanted these to install on furniture that she buys, refurbishes and sells and in that process she has kept a lot of the furniture for our house. My wife can't leave hardly anything in one place more than a week so she moves it when I'm gone and by herself. Also she will get a piece she likes better than another and the one gets sold and the replacement gets scooted across our floors. They are made of a type of poly plastic that unless you were them down to the nail they should not scratch. What I did was take one and in a closet I rubbed it across the floor many times to test it and if it didn't pass I would return them and never returned them.

Q: I need one of these, not 100. Is it possible to buy a smaller quantity?

Good grief, they are only about $10. If you replace one, you will find you need to replace them all.

Q: What is the length of the nail in inches?

The nail only is about 13mm or 0.50 inches (1/2 inch).

Q: Has anyone used these on particle board/mdf cabinets to protect them from a slightly leaky basement? did they work? can they handle the weight?

They can handle a lot of weigh, mine are on the bottom of a wall unit, tables, chairs and couches.
