I bought this for my daughter‘s birthday back in September. She got a new iPad for her birthday and he’s always been into art so I wanted to get her one of the Apple pens but to be honest paying the price for one didn’t seem justified maybe for the amount of use that she was going to use it. I opted for a cheaper version of the pen one with half decent reviews and I have to say it’s worked perfectly fine. I don’t think there’s any difference in this pen or the Apple pen if I’m honest charging is nice and easy comes with a small little charging lead which can be charged from the iPad comes with easy to use instructions and some cool little extras on the side of the pens that we didn’t realise for taking screenshots and such. My daughter is 11 finds it very easy to use really likes it and I think it’s worth the money quite honestly even if it lasted a year for the money it really is worth it compared to the expense of an Apple pen would definitely definitely recommend recommend is compatible perfectly with the Apple iPads.

Oh my god! These tips are so good! I bought it twice! It gave my Apple Pencil the softness I wanted for so long! Before, with the original hard plastic tip, my hand got so tired within 20 minutes of drawing, but now with this tip, I can actually draw for hours! It made the Apple Pencil great again!

This is a great little pen for a fraction of the price of the *fruit* pen. I like that it comes with extra tips too as they do obviously eventually ware down. I think it’s great quality for the price and is really light which was important to me. My only downside is the battery life isn’t the best

Excellent alternative to Apple Pencil and works as designed. I also have an A8 for my old iPad which works to this day. Unfortunately my A11 MetaPen broke, but MetaPen provides excellent customer support, which meant I got a pen under warranty within 3 days. Would recommend

The Customer Service Rep was excellent in dealing with my complaint and she truly wanted to fix it. She dealt with and resolved the issue quickly and in a professional manner; she offered a replacement model of this Pencil which is the A8. I accepted the offer and received this the next day. The A8 is brilliant! It charges quickly and holds the charge extremely well. I have had no issues whatsoever and am a very happy customer, thanks to Metapen's excellent Customer Service... Everything is now perfect. Now I have a Pencil which works brilliantly in every way." It is such shame because it is a lovely design and lightweight but it is no good if it can't hold a charge. I will be sending this product back to Amazon as it won't charge properly. It charged when I first received it but since then, when it shows red, I connect it to charge; eventually the light changes to white so I assume it is charged. However, when I disconnect the pencil it turns to red again. Therefore it is useless.

I’m honestly so impressed with the MetaPen A11! It’s super easy to use straight out of the box, and the performance feels really smooth and responsive. It glides effortlessly across the screen, especially when paired with a paper-like screen protector, it genuinely gives that satisfying “real writing” feel. One thing I really appreciate is that it comes with replacement tips, which adds extra value and makes it feel like a long-term investment rather than something disposable. The build quality feels solid and well made, not cheap at all. For the price…it’s incredible. It does exactly what you need without having to spend loads on more expensive alternatives. I’ve been using it for note-taking, browsing, and general use, and it keeps up perfectly. If you’re looking for an affordable, reliable pen for your tablet/ipad that performs well and feels great to use, I would definitely recommend this one!

I wanted a second pencil to use with the 2014 iPad Air M2, and the A11 proved a good option. It can work with and without bluetooth connectivity, does all the basic pencil writing/editing, and feels and functions well. With bluetooth switched on, its button can be defined with three functions and can be defined to work with specific apps such as procreate. The limitations include only USBC charging, so magnetic attachment to iPad M2, and being a little thicker than pencil pro. The company advised that they have no plans to produce a pen similar to the pro because of confidentiality with the new apple design. The A11 does not work on bluetooth at the same time as the pencil pro, and it just stops working when the pro is connected. However, switching off bluetooth will allow A11 basic functionality but not anything defined with its button. You can forget the pro on bluetooth to allow A11 full functionality, or if the pro is not in the vicinity then A11 will just kick in as the pro will not connect. I also tested the A8 Air at the time, but returned it and kept the A11. The former does only the basic functionality as the A11 so no bluetooth connectivity, but allows a much longer battery life (20 hours vs 8). It is also a third lighter than the A11. Overall, The A11 is a good substitute to the pro at a lower cost (£16 in the sale when purchased). I would have been more encouraged to get the Apple USB pencil if the A11 price was the full £32.

I dropped my Apple pencil and broke the nib. They are now £139 rather than the £100 I paid previously, so I thought I would try an alternative. I was aware that nothing would be the same as Apples pencil but I thought the price would offset the inconvenience. I like that this pen is USB-C charging but would prefer the wireless charging of the Apple unit. It feels nice to hold but feels lighter and less substantial than Apples. The power on swirch is where your index finger rests, rather than on the end, which is better, in my opinion. It writes nicely and mostly consistently. When magetically attached to the iPad it you can see the state of charge - which is useful as it doesn't charge magnetically. You get a short USB charging cable and a couple of replavement nibs and it is well packaged. However, it started to disconnect repeatedly after a couple of days using it dropped connection. I would press the switch and the white light would come on but the pen would not connect. charged it fully, tried several more time and nothing. The charge status, described earlier is no accurate, in my experience and can show up twice on the display. The double tap to swap between modes is missing in Apple Note, though apparentky is there in a couple of well know note apps that I don't use. You don't know how useful that is to switch between pencil and rubber, for example, until you don't have it. I have since ordered another official Apple Pencil and realise that buyinging cheaper was not the way to go and will return this pen. Customer support from Metapen has been excellent, they contacted me when I bought it thanking me for choosing them over the rest and when I contacted Amazon to return the pen. However, i prefer the reliability, quality an user experience of the Apple Pencil which is worth the premium price. Quality is appreciated long after the cost is forgotten never rang truer.

I've purchased several Metapen iPad pencils for myself and my nieces, who love using them for coloring. The stylus is highly accurate, with good battery life and a fast charge (10-15 min). It performs like the Apple Pencil, detecting angle and pressure for varied line thickness. However, it's slightly thicker than the genuine Apple Pencil, which may not fit in some iPad case slots—I learned this the hard way when forcing it in cracked mine. One unit failed to hold a charge, but the refund process was smooth, and my replacement works fine. Overall, a great alternative at a lower cost.
