Is this the original "Y" but under a changed name?

No, Yvresse, was originally called Champagne,apparently the Champagne wine houses of France thought that YSL was cashing in on their name. So hence the change of name

Was the perfume in the original bottle or is it in the new syle bottle?

The perfume was in the new style bottle, and I must say I was really really disappointed (not with the new style bottle), but with the perfume itself! It's no where near as strong as the original and wears off extremely quickly! If I hadn't used it I would have returned it immediately!

Is this genuine? It seems to be out of stock everywhere, so I'm a bit suspicious.

I found it to be genuine. There are a few other places you can get it like The Perfume Shop on line

I have only seen Ygresse as Eau de toilette. Do they also do a perfume version?

I have only seen it as Eau de toilette but they are marketing it as perfume. Hope this helps.

Major brownie points here , YSL formerly known as Champagne . My Mrs favourite perfume . Excellent scent staying power with a luxury smell . More of a woman of the world's fragrance ( 35± ) than a youthful scent .

I used to wear this for years when it was marketed under the name ‘Champagne ‘, was gutted when I thought YSL had stopped making it & overjoyed to find out it was renamed under ‘Yvesse’, this wasn’t available for long though, so back to gutted. Years later I don’t know what made me google it but so happy it came up on Amazon! Was dubious to start with as I’ve been caught before on imitations, especially as whole packaging has changed but it is definitely the original. Has now become my signature fragrance again & great that hardly anyone else has discovered it!
