OakcraftsOak Shaker Peg 2.5" (Pack of 10)

I've bought two packs of this item. In the first pack, all the pegs were usable straight out of the box, although it was necessary to reduce the thickness of the socket end of some of the pegs to make them uniform. Quality control seems to have gone out the window with the second pack, however. Thickness is still variable. On several of the pegs the grain is so open that the mushroom heads are too rough and uneven to use; sanding helps, but only a bit, and it risks changing the shape, and therefore the uniformity, of the pegs. And some of the pegs are several shades lighter than the others.OK, I know that wood is a natural material and subject to variation. But you expect a product like this, at this price, to be repeatable. If you have to spend time modifying it to bring it up to a usable standard, it ceases to be profitable.
