Love my new iron
When my old iron died, I was determined to buy an American made iron. No luck. I did not want an iron with Japanese lettering on the dial. And weird performance issues!Saw this one & ordered. The brand was born in Germany, the product made in France you read the control dial easily, heats readily, the auto off functions - it dies all the things it is supposed to do - and in English!!

Fantastic German made high quality
I have had a Rowenta iron for 25 years and unfortunately it was lost in a move. This new Rowenta is the same wonderful German made high quality iron. It is delightful to use and I would highly recommend it, it’s worth every penny and contrary to some comments, it is not too heavy, it glides along with little effort removing wrinkles for a fresh professional press.

Decent upgrade over DW8080, but will it last?
I purchased this iron to replace a Rowenta DW8080 that I originally purchased back in November 2018. That iron finally died, and while it had a few quirks, overall it was a pretty solid iron.Pluses: This model, the DW8350, boasts and additional 75 watts of hot hot heat, and several other design changes that I like over my previous model. First, you can actually see the water level without squinting and holding the iron just right. The window to see the water is bigger and clearer on this model. Second, the lid that closes over the fill hole is easier to open and seals more tightly. Next, the heating indicator light is easier to see. Lastly, this one has more steam holes in the soleplate, and you can pop the mechanism out to easier clean the scale build up. Note that I've never cleaned an iron and never used special water, and the only problem I've ever had is the occasional dusting of dried scale from the steam holes, but if cleaning your iron is your thing, this one makes it easier.Minuses: Heat selector is a little mushy. Not sure how granular you can get with this thing but if you need a precise temperature, this may leave you a little concerned. I usually keep it cranked all the way up so it's not a deal breaker for me, but I wish it felt a little more accurate.I've only had the iron for a few days at the time of this writing but so far I'm impressed. I will update this review like I did with the other iron if anything changes.

Not made in Germany.
I'm sad I made my purchase base on the reviews and pictures that I saw on those reviews, what I received was made in China not Germany, and people would said everything is made in China, but I don't like it. I had a Rowenta made in Germany that lasted about 6 years working beautifully but it got broken by accident(it fall from a second flor when we moved) we bought one made in China and I have barely 3 years and its lequin, getting mold and the soleplate is burned. So I love to have a German made version not the copy.

Needing to Iron things out?
I was needing to iron a lot of things out after my husband passed away last year as I needed to move to a more affordable lifestyle. When I was working full time I could afford to use the dry cleaners but after retirement and needing to move I needed some assistance with expenses. Cutting back on dry cleaning was necessary so I began doing more of my own laundry! IRONICALLY a friend told me how great this compact lightweight iron was that she ordered from Amazon. I purchased one just like it and got to work at home ironing my own clothes when possible thus cutting down the cleaning bill . This little iron was perfect in size and made my new task so much easier as I began a new life in a Senior Resident facility !!

Excellent easy to use iron!
My third rowenta iron. A little heavier than most but that is what I like as it makes ironing easier. Never liked the cheap lightweight irons like you find in the hotels. Steam works very good. Easy to use and read setting dial. We all hate ironing, why not spend a little more and make the job a bit more pleasant.

Made in China
I purchased this iron to replace a Rowenta that I had for many years. In fact, this is my third Rowenta iron because I've been very pleased with the brand since I iron quite often. My first two Rowentas were made in Germany, and according to the order site here this one was also made in Germany. However, I was disappointed to see "Made in China" on the iron I just received. I tested the iron, and it works well right now. Overall, though, it feels a little cheaper than my other Rowentas. The plastic parts seem like flimsier plastic. We'll see how long this one lasts.
